Honolulu firefighters extinguished a fire at the uncompleted Disney hotel at Ko Olina this evening, fire officials said.

Hotel spokesman Todd Apo said construction workers were fighting the small fire with fire extinguishers on the 12th floor roof of the eastern tower.

Originally classified as a two-alarm, the fire was reported extinguished at 6:39 p.m. Firefighters responded to a call of smoke coming from the rooftop about 6:15 p.m.

First the fire at the Tiki room at Disneyland, and now a fire at Aulani.

The spirits must be upset about the resale changes.

Saw pictures on the news and didn't look too big. Was on the roof. Maybe some welding type fire.

Maybe they were testing out the volcano feature...... Seriously, I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Maybe they built it on an ancient burial ground with tikis like the Greg Brady episode and the place is cursed! First the landfill waste ruin the lagoons, then the fire! Coincidence??

The aulani spokesperson said that

1) the fire was out before firefighters arrived on scene.
2) no one was hurt
3) this setback will not affect the opening
