At 12:30 AM Hawaii time the FIRE ALARM went off requiring full evacuation of the EWA tower (it is early and I'm still very sleepy - I think that is the name of the east tower)

The evacuation went very orderly. People were great. No pushing or shoving. People gave way and let families exit down together.

No fire trucks came and there was almost NO INFORMATION or Disney employees present outside. One castmember was out front and knew nothing. We were outside about 1 minute when the ALL CLEAR came from the loudspeaker system in the valet garage.

Rumor - I repeat, Rumor -

I overheard a castmember tell another guest as I passed that there was a problem (no fire) with the fire system on the part of the tower that was still under construction.

Looks like human error.

I will follow up in the morning and post the "official response" from the front desk. :furious:

I hope everyone had their "keys" to get back in their room. I remember being at a convention and the alrarm went off in the early morning hours. There were SOOOO many people at the front desk that needed assistance getting back into their room.

We had this happen on our trip as well, but it was while we were eating dinner.

Huh. We were there too, but in the other tower that wasn't evacuated. It was nice of them to wake us up by giving the "All Clear" in our rooms. Wondered what all the hubub was about.

According to the front desk, someone pulled the fire alarm.:confused3

I am suprised that there was no response from the fire department. They usually come when an alarm is pulled just to verify that it is not a true emergency.

Had that happen 3 times in the same night at the Excalibur on my last trip to Vegas. Not a pleasant experience. I hope they have security cams on the fire alarms to catch these clowns.
