Does anyone have snorkel buying experience check out this link below. I am trying to figure out which is best uniflex fins or proflex fins? Does anyone know?

I have checked all the stores around me and it appears the best deal is to buy a set online. Wal-mart does have US Divers but is hard to tell the quality.

I think I have figured out what I need in a mask and snorkel but am unsure about split fins (the shorter ones or the long ones) and which are best???

Thanks!!!

last night when i looked at these quickly i didn't see the difference. Since there appears to be no price difference, i think the full foot fin is the better deal. That way you won't have to worry about your fin strap ever getting broken. Plus it sounded like the second pair was more lightweight...

hope that helps.

If you are ever planning on doing any diving then you'll definitely want the open back fin. You need this to accomidate the wetsuit and non wetsuit sizes of your feet. I would also reccomend the open back fins for a better fit. You can adjust the fin size on the back but with the full foot fin you are stuck if it doesn't fit right. It's horrible trying to snorkle with fins that don't fit right! I've done it and ended up coming out of the water early in frustration.

It looks like you've picked a nice set though. I've tried the split fins and they are quiet nice. The mask has got a lot of clear surface which allows you to see to the sides as well as let more light in.:D

The fins are a personnal choice. The price is good. Let us know how they work out. (DD's need new snorkel gear!)

I think so too. I am trying to decide from a set I found at Snorkelcity.com, snorkelfun.com and Joediveramerica.com. They are all similar and cost about $50.00 for the fins, mask and snorkel. Thanks for your help :)

Ok here is what I have narrowed it down to. The first 2 are fins that fit like shoes not open straps. I have only snorkeled with the strap type but the pcoket fit fins are ordered based on your shoe size so suppose to fit. If you all have time or any opinions let me know  I am confused..........

This one has a choice of the pocket fin or strap fin

If you all have any advice on the snorkels and masks that come with these sets I would love to hear your opinions.

Thanks!

With just a quick look I would have to exclude Joe Diver because of the mask. It has a lot less veiwing area and this can make a huge difference. Also the snorkle does not have a purge valve at the bottom which makes it easier to clear you snorkle of water.

Unfortunately Snorkle Fun does not give a great picture but everything looks good.

Like I had said before, I prefere the open back style of fins. I think if I were ordering over the internet I would definitely go with open back just because I can't try them on to make sure of the fit. With an open back you have adjustment areas to make them fir. The fins are like shoes. I take a 7 in some shoes but a 7.5 in other and I own some size 8s. What size would I be in closed foot fins? Well that depends on the manufacturer and sometimes on the fins, just like shoes.

Obviously this is just my opinion. I'm sure others will have very valid points that will go the other way. YMMV

Good luck!:D

Thanks for your input and I think you are right I should probably go with Snorkelcity.com which has the strap back (Uniflex fin) and purge valve.

Thanks!!!
