Finland DID NOT ban Donald Duck because he wears no pants.

I'm really enjoy these snopes.com urban legend pages. Who else thought that Donald Duck had once been banned in Finland?

The following are also urban legends:

Aladdin tells teenagers to take off their clothes.

Rafiki chants a naughty phrase in a talking Lion King book.

A phallus was drawn on the video cover of The Little Mermaid by a disgruntled artist.

A minister becomes aroused during the wedding scene in The Little Mermaid.

The look of Tinker Bell in Peter Pan was based on Marilyn Monroe.

Donald Duck shouts a racial epithet at Daffy Duck.

The personalities of the dwarf characters in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs represent the seven stages of cocaine addiction.

These ones are supposedly true:

Belle makes a cameo appearance in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Photographic images of a topless woman can be spotted in The Rescuers.

The film Song of the South has never been released on home video in the USA.

Disney produced an animated film called The Story of Menstruation.

Lemmings were induced into jumping off a cliff for this Disney nature film.

These may or may not be true:

The Beast sports a tattoo in Beauty and the Beast.

Letters spelling the word S-E-X are formed by a cloud of dust in The Lion King.

Mischievous animators drew Jessica Rabbit naked.

I can attest to this. On the laser disc version of WFRR if you go frame by frame, on one of the scene you can see that she's not wearing underwear.

On the DVD, that frame have been re-drawn.

Yeah...it goes into further detail about this at the site. It's along the lines of what you are saying.

Disgruntaled artist notwithstanding, the *Original* VHS Cover of the Little Mermaid did contain a tower that was remarkably anatomically correct. I'm not sure why snopes reports this as an urban legend, since I used to own it...

Sarangel, the urban legend is that this was done on purpose. There may have been something that appeared phallic but it was not intentionally drawn there, according to snopes. They have write ups about each one of these if you want to check into it for more information.

It was reported as not a urban legend because the artist was NOT disgruntled and never worked for Disney and that it was supposedly not done on purpose either ;) ;) :rotfl2:

Not that I want to argue with the intelligent people at Snopes.com, but ....

The minister in the little mermaid does become obviously aroused, unless his knees bend at his crotch!! I have seen it myself, and almost fell out.

The word SEX is spelled in a dust of clouds on the Lion King, but you almost have to watch it frame by frame and know what you are looking for.It only shows one letter at a time.

According to everyone it is not S E X spelled in the clouds bu S F X

it was the special effects team putting in a little pat on the back for themselves.
