OK... OK... I finially made up my mind. I really wanted Boardwalk... but the price was high, no AAA discounts avail. Checked around at other hotels too...

Could not beat the price of $162.50 for Swan STD. I thought that was a terrific price. Was thinking about upgrading to Club Level, but after what I have read on these boards and the Luxury Guide to WDW I decided against it. I called the Swan and Club Concierge does not do pre-dining reservations. You have to be there to make the reservations. This does not help with those difficult ressies.

I always stay on the MK side, I really wanted to try the Epcot side this time. Maybe even do Fantasia Gardens. I only stayed BC Concierge 1 night.. another story there (was not pleased with the service so moved to Poly).

I usually like to stay concierge because we do take breaks during the day, but I figure with being on the Wonder for 4 days we are going to want to be out and not in the room much this trip.

I hope I made the right decision. After all it's only for two nights.

Hi - We stayed at the Swan last December and my DH and I enjoyed it very much. It was great staying so close to Epcot. We enjoyed several of the Epcot restaurants which we would not have done had we stayed where we usually do (AKL or WL). When we stay at AKL or WL we eat in Epcot only on the 2 days that we are in the park. With being so close, we just took the boat over several evenings for dinner because it was so convenient. We are planning our trip next December and have pretty much decided on staying at the Swan or Dolphin again. I hope you enjoy the Swan as much as we did - we were very impressed with the service. Each staff member acted as though they cared that we had the best time possible - and each one went out of his or her way to ensure that we did. Have a GREAT time!!!!!

samoyed...good choice!

We stayed at the Swan last August before checking into the YC concierge.
The BEST BEDS and ROOM SERVICE AT WDW!
HANDS DOWN!

You'll love it and it'll be a neat treat!::yes::

Now...as much as I love the S/D resorts, their concierge just
do not come close to WDW's concierges.
JMHO......:D

We stayed there in November and had a great time. :D Be sure to join the Starwood Club. You get points for your stay and I think they give you a better room.

Oh, yes!
We belong to Starwood also, and we got upgraded!

Thanks for adding that, Bojangles !

You will love the Swan! We have only stayed at DVC since we joined in 1994(OKW, BCV), but rented our our points this year and stayed at Swan, club level. The room was great 1153, looked out over waterway to MGM, Boardwalk and MGM(TOT). Everyone was very helpful and the location can't be beat. We walked to Epcot, Fantasia Golf and Boardwalk. Boat to MGM and bus to MK (drove to AK). Try for upgrade to Club level-breakfast and afternoon hor d'heurves were plentiful and delicious. Thabo(CM) was unbeleivable. Turn down service and those great heavenly beds! Do not believe thos who say you miss the MAGIC. It is wonderful(also great restaurants(tried Fresh, Dolphin Fountain).

OK.... so call me spoiled, but once you go concierge it is hard to go any other way.....

I just had to upgrade to Club Level. Even with upgrading to club level I am still $100 cheaper that the STD room in the Boardwalk.

I just like the convience of getting up eating a light breakfast grabbing my waters and juice boxes and heading for the parks.

We are coming off the 4-day cruise and after that I think I am going to have enough of FOOD... A continential breakfast will be just great.

I so can't wait... May seems so far away...

I do hope they have juice boxes here.... I just can't travel with a lot of Apple Juice. My daughter (6 yr )has a bagel and cream cheese with apple juice every morning. As long as the Club has that we will be just fine.

Thanks for everyone's comments I really appreicate it.

Actually they do not have juice boxes, but you can get apple and orange juice for breakfast, they have bottles of it set on the table. I just came back from there last night and the only other thing they had to go in the mornings were regular milk, 2% and chocolate milk.
They do have bottles of water but you have to ask for them. Their food selection was great in the mornings , we really enjoyed it. Say hello to MamaT, Thabo, Maria and Nekane from us, they were absolutely wonderful.
We will be back there.

Samoyed,
Just in case you are interested the Dolphin is $147.50 per night. $15 cheaper per night for STD. Just letting you know. The renovation of the Dolphin will be finished at the end of April.
ADP :D

Personally, I think you are going to be VERY disappointed at what you get with the Club Level. You are used to the Disney level and you are not getting anything close to that. I was shocked at the lack of service/amenities compared to other club levels in hotels around the country. (And I have not done the Disney Concerige).

I would go to the grocery and buy a bunch of water bottles, juice boxes and bagles. The water bottles are the 4 oz type and were just too small for me. In addition, while everyone raves about the woman running this thing I was not overly impressed. Probably because the place was SO busy that getting anyone's attention to ask for the water bottles was very difficult!

I got it for free and that is the only way I would take CL.
