Am I the only odd one? I was fingerprinted in 1977 in order to join the Air Force. They were unable to get an acceptible print. Last year I was printed to adopt Alize, again unable to get a print acceptible to the FBI. Today had to be printed in order to start adopting foster daughter. Same story. Each time I've had to end up signing a form that I'm not a criminal. Anyone else have this happen? :confused3

I have the same problem. I just tell people that I've worked my fingers to the bone for everyone. Honestly I don't know why my fingerprints are worn off. I've never been involved in manual labor.

My mom barely has any fingerprints left due to being a nurse and having to scrub up so often.

ME too! I have been working for/with Finanicial Institutions for MANY years. So I have to be bonded.

Every 6 months I always have to "redo" my finger prints....and the reason is ALWAYS that "they didnt come out"

:confused3

I always wonder if I went into a life of crime, would they ever find me.:rolleyes1

I've had to go back to be refingerprinted because mine don't come out. They asked me if I work with abrasives or lots of paper. Yes, money and paper for years.

I've never had a problem being fingerprinted.

The first time I had to be fingerprinted for my job, I had to go to th police station. I was so nervous, i was afraid someone would see me being fingerprinted and come to the wrong conclusion.

My current job, corproate security does the fingerprinting. And they' have a machine that does digital imaging, so no black ink on your fingers!

I'm sure they would find you're wanted in 11 states and Puerto Rico. :rolleyes1

I do adoption/foster home studies and there are on occasion people that cannot be fingerprinted but since they've begun the digital fingerprinting, we have not had any rejections. Have you only been fingerprinted with ink?

yes. I have bad excema on my hands. Sometimes when it is inflamed it is terrible and I end up having no fingerprints.

As part of my job in the detective bureau, I do civilian fingerprinting. Yes, it is indeed possible to wear the ridge detail down on your fingers. We also do the electronic printing, but, IMHO, sometimes it can be temperamental!

I have to agree with the electronic printing. I was just printed not too long ago and it too forever due to not being able to get good prints. It was not because my prints are hard to read, it was difficult to get the right color, size, etc to get the system to accept them.

Mine wasn't ink but digital and they couldn't get a full reading. I do have partial prints on some of my fingers like the pinkies. It also causes problems with renting lockers at Universal Studios as they use the fingerscan for that. And I have problems with my annual passs at Disney.

I always have that problem and I have no idea why. Don't work with paper, chemicals, or anything like it. It's so annoying to know everytime I have to be printed that I'll have to do it three times.

I've had problems with it too.
I had to have my friend use her finger at Universal
I guess they got decent fingerprints when I worked for the school district after 3 tries in 2 different locations (different cities).

Having spoken to hundreds of people about this issue, plus some folks at the FBI, here is my hint. It worked for me and my crappy fingerprints. Starting at least 1-2 weeks before you get the prints taken, slather your hands with something like Aquaphor at night. Not some simple lotion, but something downright greasy. A thick coat, not a light film. Put gloves on or the stuff will stain all your bedding. (Get some at the beauty supply house.) During the night, this will intensely moisturize your hands, which in most cases are dried out from excema, allergies, chemicals, etc. It hydrates them and sort of makes the ridges of your prints easier to read. Do it every night. The longer, the better. I did it for 2 weeks.

I had no end of trouble with my prints until I did this and then had zero problems. It has worked for dozens of others that I've talked to. Good luck.
