Finger Scan vs pic ID

Our Sunday Boston Globe newspaper had an article about how some people feel that finger scan @ WDW are an invasion of personal info. The disney folks describe the new scan as not a finger printing. It also quoted many who state that disney is using this for purposes other than avoiding ticket fraud or resale. Disney says that it purges the info 30 days after the ticket expires or is fully utilized. The article also stated that you have the option of handing them a picture ID instead of scanning finger. We have never heard of that option and we consider ourselves relative WDW veterans. Anyone else know you have that option? I don't care about the finger scanning-don't see much of a problem there.

Never heard of that option, but I'm sure the conspiracy theorists will come up with a way that showing a photo ID invades their privacy!

I bought my tickets at the Disney Store and they didn't have any names on them. What is the point of presenting a picture ID in this case? It doesn't mean anything. Except for those on packages whose room keys serve as tickets, and maybe AP holders, tickets don't have names on them.

I'm pretty sure you have to sign the back of them. I know we had to sign the back of our keys/tickets (the plastic ones) but I don't remember if the paper ones have a space for a signature... :confused3

Just checked the back of our (plastic) Disney Store-purchased tickets and you are correct, there is space for a signature. (I didn't sign mine and used it for eight days - oops!)

You only have to sign your AP or PAP if you are going to use photo ID (that is not use the "biometric" scan method)
