Finger scan/ticket questions

We're staying off site, and haven't gone since the new ticketing system, so please forgive these stupid questions.

The first time we use our tickets, we put them through and just scan our finger(s) too, right? There shouldn't be a problem with a brand new ticket, right? So if there are problems with a subsequent time we enter a park, what happens? I'm envisioning that they ask for photo ID to show we're really us, but then how did our name get linked to our tickets? Do we have to register the tickets somehow before we use them? Do you just mark something on them so you can remember which ticket belongs to which family member? I'm feeling kind of dense on this one.

You should write on the ticket who it belongs to. They have tables set up at the TTC by MK for you to do this. Other than that there is nothing you need to do before using the tickets. Once you scan your finger it will be linked to that ticket so no one else can use it. I would always have photo ID with you but you most likely won't need to use it unless your ticket becomes demagnitized or it can't read your finger scan.

There shouldn't be a problem with brand-new tickets -- correct. If there is a problem on a subsequent entry, yes, they will rely on photo ID. Be sure you always have it handy to avoid a lengthy delay.

You should definitely write who the ticket belongs to after they use it the first time. Two of my brothers mixed their tickets up and one went to MK and one went to BB. Both of them had problems getting into the respective parks.

Wow - they're really that strict now, using the finger scan too! On our past two trips we never signed the cards or had to do the finger scan thing - though the machines were there! My uncle just made sure he held the one that you could charge items to.

How does all this work now with little ones, re: the five-year-old in our group?!?!

Neil, I feel like I my comment was misinterpreted by you. Safetymom, I appreciate your answer, and the speed in which you responded, but I really misunderstood when you said "You should write on the ticket who it belongs to." I didn't take it to mean that the tickets get signed by each person. I really appreciate everyone responding when I and others have questions, and I try to answer questions, too, when I can, and there was no malice at all in my response. I really hadn't "connected the dots" on this one, which was why I was feeling confused, and my "there's the missing piece" was just an expression of my finally understanding. Sorry if it offended.

We just got back from WDW. At the TTC there was a CM at the gate telling everyone that you had to sign your ticket before going through the gate to the ferry/monorail. We have AP so our names are already printed on the backs.

When do we get to do the retinal scans and blood samples for DNA comparison?!?

Actually the lines at the gates moved pretty quickly. So if there were problems thye took care of them pretty quick.
