For all new flex-pay preferred annual passes, they will not get their picture taken but will use a fingerscan only.

So far, this doesn't apply to Preferred Annual Passes or Power Passes that are paid for in full when purchased but only for those who buy using flex-pay (the $15 a month payment plan.) They will use their paper ticket as their annual pass.

We bought the flex-pays & got actual plastic passes with our photos in October - I sure hope it's from here on out, & we don't end up having to trade them in for a paper ticket.

By the way, this finger scan hasn't seemed to be working that well. When I visited Universal Studios and IOA, the finger scan did not work for my whole family. Even one of the workers there said it was a pain in the neck having it, Lol.

They just changed it a couple of days ago. We'll just have to wait and see if it changes for all the annual passes in the future.

We just bought our flexpay annual passes this past weekend. At first they told us we had to pay for parking the second day we returned (since the passes no longer have the pictures on them) then the restaurant & gift shop were a bit hesitant in accepting them for discounts. Guest services straightened everything out wonderfully since we were at the parking booth for a good 15 minutes before she finally let us pass without paying! The fingerprint reader didn't work very well on three of our five passes. Overall we had a wonderful weekend but I sure do hope they start to recognize the new pictureless passes & the fingerprint reader starts working better. I plan to go atleast one weekend a month if not more! :)
This site is a wealth of information!

We're on flex pay and we just got our passes this past weekend. Our first use was Friday, Dec 2nd. They took our picture for the passes. No fingerprint was taken. Parking was free everyday we went and not once did we encounter problems with anyone accepting them.

We had a blast! We're going back in a few weeks, I think.

Well now I am confused. I wonder why they went back to taking pics the weekend after we got ours? According to the employee we got ours from it was to be finger scan from that point on. Oh well. We will be back this weekend for Grinchmas so hopefully our pictureless passes will still be legit ;)

RetroJulie probably ordered her flexpay passes earlier before the change. It doesn't matter when she activated them. The flex passes ordered before Nov. 25th still get pictures. Those ordered after Nov. 25 get fingerscans.

You may be right on that point Phamtom. We ordered our passes over a month ago. It wasn't until this past weekend that we "activated" them. Maybe that's why they took our pictures versus fingerprints.

That's exactly why you got pictures. I suspect that before too long all the old annual passes will be converted to the new pictureless annual passes.

So since we ordered our passes using flex pay & they have 11/15/05 on them when we activate them on 12/17 we'll get to take our picture for the passes ? Did I get that right ? I really don't want any hassles using them at the stores or restaurants for discounts. We received 3 paper tickets will my 3 year old's pictue pass look the same as the adults ? Do I show his pass as well for the fotl ? Can't wait to use them for Grinchmas ! :3dglasses Thanks !!!

As of right now, your picture would be taken but that could change before you get here.

You won't have any problems.

There are no child's annual passes. All the annual passes are the same for both adults and children.

Do I show his pass as well for the fotl ?

Maybe I'm just confused about this question. An annual pass does not get you FOTL. If you are staying onsite, your room key will be your front of the line pass and everyone in your party (age 3 and over) will need one.

Sorry your right, my mistake. I meant to say since we're staying onsite at the PBR, will my 3 year old need a room key to get the fotl or will mine do for him ? You anticipated my question so thanks for all your quick answers !! :wave2:

okay that explains why we had to tell all the workers we had annual passes and got the discount, no one knew they changed to the finger scan..i hope when we go back in july they have it straightened it out.
