Finding wine in World Showcase?

My husband and I are having a "second honeymoon" in Disney this April and both of us are wine lovers (connoisseur is too fancy a label for us). I know that France and Italy both serve wine in their restaurants - are there counter service or bar type areas around the world where one can get a glass of wine to enjoy without sitting down for an entire meal? I know France has such a place, but what about the rest of the world? I must admit, I am as excited about sampling the food around World Showcase as I am riding all the main attractions in Disney!

Yes!

In Italy, there is a tasting bar on the right side, last building (at least, there has been every time I've been there.)

In Germany, the last building on the left has a tasting bar as well.

In France, walk toward the back (where the Boulangerie and Movie are) and there is a wine shop on the right. Tasting bar is in there.

You can get a glass of wine "to go" at the Pub in the UK, and sometimes from a cart in Canada.

You can get wines and champagne in France at the cart.

You can get Mimosas in teh Tangerine Cafe in Morroco.

Not sure about Japan...

Never got wine from the American Adventure, not sure I've ever seen it there, but they do sell beer.

You can get wine by the glass in one of the shops in Italy and Germany.

Haven't seen it in the Outpost (too bad, there are some great Australian and African wines these days)

Not sure I'd want to try Chinese wine, DH tried the beer once, it's the only times I've seen him throw away a cup with only a few sips taken!

I haven't seen it, but I imagine there might be wine by the glass available in the bakery in Norway.

Also haven't seen wine in Mexico, it might be available at the Cantina, but I dont' know. They do have Margharita's though :)

Hope this helped.

Forgot to mention you can also get Bellini's from a cart in Italy--YUM!!

You will have no problem finding wines to try, almost everywhere in the world, except MK.

At EPCOT there are wine tasting counters in the shops at Germany, Italy and France. Outside france there is a Champagne cart..try a kir royale.
There are Sake tasting in the back (food store area) of the japanese shops. Wonderful stuff to taste.

I thought I noticed that the outside cart in Morocco also had wine on it the last time we were making our way around.

Oh my god. You can get some great galsses of wine in almost every country. France and Italy are my personal favorites. Many places have carts or wine shops were you can buy a glass.

Does anyone know if I can get Inniskillen ice-wine from Canada? This is probably the best dessert wine EVER made. Hard to find though. :)

I'm pretty sure in one of the guidebooks I've read that they do have this. I've never tried it though.

I know they have them in Le Cellier, the only time I think I've seen them outside was during F&W.

No great loss, not sure how anyone can drink that stuff...to each their own I guess. :)

For all you icewine lovers..try it with blue cheese. You will be amazed. This was a hint given to us last year at the party of the senses by the inniskillin rep. He was so right!

Glad I read this thread - lots of helpful info - thanks to all who posted. I can't wait to try a glass of wine or 2 from around the world :sunny:

You can get sake (if you are interested in trying it) :earseek: in Japan in the store to the back....they have a whole sake tasting bar set up! My bf loved it personally I vote for the bellilnis in Italy as well!! :wizard:

Try the wine sampler in France, 3 2oz. glasses for 6.00. The red and the white were scrumptious, the "blush" or rose, whatever it was was yuck !

There's a little wine counter in France, where you can get your wine, then sit by teh fountain area to drink it. I remember thinking, when I was there, that I bet it could be really romantic under the right circumstances (like a "second honeymoon"), especially in the evening. Not at lunch time sitting with 21 yo DS!

I discovered a wonderful German libation called Gluewine or glow wine in Germany. It's a mulled/spiced red wine that is served warm and I am a huge fan! The little wine shop in Germany is delightful as well. Also had something called an applebaum, or warmed apple schnapps. We were there the first week in December and it was a lovely finish for the fireworks at the end of the night!

Gluehvein is only available in the winter months, actually. It's a great thing, but it's simply not served earlier. Last year in Germany during Oktoberfest it was so cold that the vendors got special permission to sell it, but that's the earliest I've ever seen.

Germany has a wonderful Stein shop we love. They have pewter wine goblets, you have to try red wine from a pewter goblet.

I bought wine from France after a tasting. Then had it shipped back to the resort. Very easy. They do have the sampler but you can get samples of other wines as well.

Enjoy!
