Hello everyone,
I've been quiet of late but I still pop in to read all your posts! Now, I need some advice from all you bargain airfare experts
We have 2 scenarios planned for next years trip, which we will be leaving around mid-October. We are thinking to #1 find one of those great Jetstar Airfares that go to Hawaii around $299 each way. Last time we managed to get all 4 of us return to Hawaii from Sydney with our luggage for an amount short of $2800, which was pretty awesome
BUT this time we are going to Disneyland too. We are happy to cut the lengthy flight by stopping in Hawaii both directions if it cuts costs but if we can save money to go directly home from LA - SYD this would be ok too (people do survive the long haul!) somehow
I heard Qantas was putting on more flights from early next year to Hawaii so I had a fiddle around with their multi-stop flights on the website. We can't get our dates yet but I played with similar off peak dates in Feb - May next year and it always came back with a price around $6000 for the 4 of us. 2 adults and 2 children. SYD-HNL, HNL-LAX, LAX-SYD.
Does anyone know if this sort of price could get any better? If we opt for the Jetstar option and get one of their great fares SYD-HNL return, and pay the domestic flights from Hawaii to LAX we could save around $800 at least.
I guess I am really talking circles here, but if anyone could offer insight on how to stalk the airlines for the best fare and when I should expect to get something good for October next year, how early I need to be or do I need to sort of wait until closer to get a good price?
