Agreed...that would be far too complicated for Disney to show.
There *are* websites that show room prices by date and room category (I don't think I can post a link to it, but you can just Google "Disney rack rates 2017"). But then you have to later in room availability, and whether a discount is available...that's just one reason I love my Dreams travel agent!
If you're been looking in the last couple of days you won't get any availability because of the reservation system being unavailable. I tried yesterday and same thing.
Nah. Not like that either. I was just thinking about all the websites out there that people have to help plan Disney vacations and figured I'd ask if any of them keep an ongoing look at resort availability. Similar to how Touring Plans has a way to look at fast pass availability, even though Disney does not. I wanted to see availability before looking for my dates.
For example, let's say I want to stay at AoA November 6-10 but when I go to disneys website it doesn't come up as available. So instead I look for Nov 7-11, no dice. So I look for Nov 5-9, no dice. So I try a different set of days. Same process. Multiple searches, no luck. So I go to this other website that has the availability listed similar to the touring plans fast pass availability. And I see they they AoA only has availability for 4 day, 3 night stretches in November but there are times in October. It would have been helpful to see that before I went searching for a room.
Or whatever... that's just a fictional example to illustrate what I was sort of hoping to find, not necessarily that exact thing. I'm assuming nothing like that exists now that I've asked, but I figured I would ask because there are all sorts of Disney tools from other websites available to help you book more easily.

I've seen a number of hotels that bring up a calendar and you can see whether or not they have availability. Like a PP mentioned, they do have that feature on the S/D website. I'm not sure why Disney can't do it. They do it for DVC when you're booking on points.
I don't the no im getting an error as much as when I am looking is unavailable. However, there is a note on the website that you can't book online right now, so perhaps that is why everything seems unavailable.
They only show 4 resorts as options, and they don't give you extra dates as an idea.
If you're talking about the RAT on DVC, in my personal experience that's nearly useless (though I get that others, looking at other resorts and other times than I am, have had success).
