Finding other mummies?

Hi all. I am relatively new to vmk and getting the basics down. I have found the hidden Mickeys and spend lots of time crashing my boat (lol). My kids (teens & twenties) are on and have shown me around, and I enjoy meeting them and sharing our 'stuff'. My question is: How do I go about meeting and maybe befriending a few other 'mummy' type vmkers? I'm not new to the DIS, but new to this vmk board, and I see that lots of you posting are my peers and obviously mummies yourselves. You all seem to know each other so well already. How did you find each other? Nothing against kids, but I would love to find some mummy friends! Any hints?

To make dis friends, put something about dis or dis member in your signature. Some people you will come across randomly. A good bet is to do a room search with "Dis" in the popular rooms list to find dis people. Also, the Central Plaza can be a good place to see dis people.

I am a "mummy". My oldest son is 10 and plays on VMK (WildCatKris) and my youngest is only 4. He plays on my account sometimes. Mainly dresses me, moves me around and arranges my furniture.

Welcome fellow Mummy! The best way to find Dis people is click on everyone in the room with you, most of us have Dis in our signature - mental note to self need to put Dis back in my signature - and also check out the major areas of VMK, Central mostly, then Town Square and Main Street. On any given night you will find a bunch of Dis crazies whooping it up. Plus just about everynight some Dis person hosts a party in their room and you are sure to meet alot of us mummies there. Oh and watch for the ugly parade. You won't be able to miss them!

I'm a mummy too! I have a DS16 and a DS13. I'm DISKaycee on VMK. My younger DS13 is sometimes on VMK with me - his VMK name is Donaldspal. We often split up though so that he can hang out with other kids and I can hang out with the DIS crowd!

I had trouble meeting other DISers on VMK at first. But once you make just a couple of contacts, your DIS mummy list will start growing by leaps and bounds. You'll usually find DISers with other DISers, so if you follow the ones on your friends list, you can meet new DIS friends and add them to the list.

My kids are JamminJoey(15) and CrazySteph(13) on VMK.

They have helped me out with earning credits and showing me around the kingdom.

I know there are more out there as I have met some other mummies on VMK and their kids.

Ok, dumb question,how do we change our screenname to add DIS?

You don't have to change your screenname, but you can change your signature. Click on the shirt at the bottom of the screen and you will see the space to type in a signature. Just add dis to that and you are all set

I am a mummy, too. Once you find one Dis person, it gets easier and easier to find the rest because we usually are all together. I guess we mummies can relate to each other. I hope you can join us soon.

Another mummy here too. I think the DIS Boards are the best way to meet other mummy's and I love the friendly environment here. My name on game is same as here, tigressjewel. I also from time to time use MissTigger. I probably need to add dis to my signature as well.

Thanks for all of the replies and pms. I have fixed my signature and will be looking for some of you on vmk. If deba comes to your room and just sits quietly, taking it all in, that would be me! I don't talk too much yet...spend most of my typing and retyping words not allowed. By then, the moment's past!

Even if you try really, really hard. You'll try to avert your eyes, attempt to flee, run, but it won't work. The horrific images will burn themselves into your consciousness. You will wonder, why blue skin, a trucker hat, orange shirt, pink ball gown, and combat boots? Why did I have to see that?
