Finding a room at the GCH?

Anyone had success snagging a room at the GCH when it is showing full? We need to grab an extra night in November, and I'm checking regularly, but thought there might be a time when people tend to unload any extra reservations (a bit like dining).
Any thoughts appreciated!

What are your dates? The only suggestions I can think of is to try all different booking sites, not just Disney, and keep checking. Are your dates near Dapper Day or during Thanksgiving week? Those dates are going to be more difficult, but you can keep trying in case someone cancels.

If you keep checking right up until your trip you may luck out and get a room. Once I got a DLH room 2 days before my trip even though it had been sold out prior to that. People need to cancel 5 days before their check-in date in order to get a refund, so maybe check a few extra times on the day that's 5 days out from your arrival day.

Just keep checking. twice this year i booked with in a week of our trip. One stay was at DLH and one at GCH. Just wait for the 30 day window of cancellation or the 5 day. Once that ets closer there wll be more rooms. Just fyi everytime i have called to book they have said they have the same availability of rooms as online.

No advice but someone told me that room only reservations have to be paid 5 days before so check then.

They don’t have to be paid 5 days before, they just have to be canceled 5 days before in order to not forfeit the deposit.

Call the GCH and see if they can add what you need to your reservation. It might be something a supervisor can do for you.
