after lurking for so long am ready to ask question... I called AAA and booked a trip for Sept. with free dining today and now am ready to ask for help...

Belle

I just booked the Coronado for 09/09/2007 to 09/15/2007 with free dining. I have also booked these resturants:Wolfgang Puck Cafe the night we arrive, Le Cellier for lunch the next day, Whispering Canyon the next night, Crystal Palace for the next night dinner, then coral reef for the next night dinner and finally the concourse for the last nights dinner. Are these all good choices and how do I plan the parks to go with the resturants and anything else you want to offer help on. My email is tooninsurance@sbcglobal.net Help!!!!!

so. What do you need help with!?

I am in the process of buying books and there's so many I am now familiar with TGM here but what are the other books.. heard about Passporter but I dont have the complete title to search for it...

I know .. I myself would want to try CP for breakfast to get in the parks as early as I can....:hourglass

THANK YOU for all the welcome response!!!:cheer2:

I'm new here too, but I'll give you my 2 cents. I plan my meals around what park I am planning on going to that day. I plan my parks around extra magic hours, and events, like parades, fireworks, etc. So I try to make sure I am at the park the days they have extra magic hours, etc.

So for instance, we arrive around 11AM, so the first day we are spending half a day at Epcot, so we booked dinner at Garden Grill.

The next day we will be at MK, because they will have both parades, and fireworks, so we are going to breakfast at CP

The third day we are doing AK, because that night is MNSSHP in the evening, and will go to breakfast at Donald's Breakfastasaurus

4th is at MGM, so we are there for breakfast with JOJO

5th day back at MK for extra magic hours, and dinner at LTT

You just need to decide is it about the food for you, or the parks? For each person that's different. We do breakfasts, because if DS is tired in the evening, a nice dinner maybe rushed, while he is always happy in the morning.

HTH. Truthfully, I don't think with any plan you can go wrong.

I think these are excellent food choices.
1st Wolfgang is in downtown disney, which is fine for an arrival day (may cut down on park time)
Le Cellier is excellent (in Canada in Epcot) The only suggestion I may have would be to do it for dinner instead of lunch. I see that you have Whispering Canyon that same evening for dinner. You will need to take a bus or boat to the Widerness Lodge. What is the time of your ressie? You do not want to miss illuminations (Epcot's fireworks). Maybe you could do them both for dinner, but on separate nights?
I love Crystal Palace! It is also the only character meal you have scheduled. It is a beautiful restaurant and good service (Pooh characters) located inside MK.
Coral Reef is very cool in Epcot, you will enjoy it!
The Concourse (you must be a steak lover! You have two famous steak restaurants!) Inside the Contemporary. It would be easiest if you did these on a MK or Epcot day so you could just ride the monorail to the Contemporary.
No MGM restaurant. There really is no certain way to plan the parks for ADR's except to be aware of the time and budget it accordingly. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get to the restaurant, because WDW is so big! As far as the food choices, I think you will not be disappointed! :)

:cool1: Congrats! First thing you need to do is figure out what day you are going to the parks. Look at the Disney park calendar for early closings, parades and EMH's to help you decide. Then make your ADR's for the restaurant you want. You'll need to do this asap! Some restaurants are already full during free dining.

Welcome belle to the DIS!

I too would figure out what day for the parks and go from there!

Hi! I LOVE books so I have a few. I got a passporter and it has a ton of info in it. Go to passporter.com to look at their books. Also Birnbaum's books are great and my daughter really loves their Walt Disney World for Kids by Kids. It gives a great overview of the parks on a kids level and has good pictures. Borders or Barnes and Noble have the Birnbaum books.
Hope this helps!--Joan:goodvibes

This is where the problem comes in. My husband is a diabetic so I do not want to eat to late or to early. I am not sure when the fireworks are and the parades. I am so confused on which parks to go to and when to get there. We are staying 6 nights and 7 days but are driving in. So I don't want to run a marathon while there; is it not true that it will be less crowded in September or is the free dining making it as crowded? Help me with any and all advice you can give; will gladly listen and learn. Thanks up front for all the help to come.

for the past 3 years Sept. has been every busy when we trekked the WORLD! You can get all the times and dates of the parades and fireworks at disney.go.com site!

I would keep it simple and do one park a day. If you are staying in WDW, you can go back to your resort for a break/sugar test/etc. and come back later. Be sure to plan an hour each way for your break travel time. You can research park hours/parades on disney's website. You'll also get the information when you enter the park. Also, I would advise making an ADR for a meal so you can count a meal time that is good for your DH. I would make it soon as some restaurants are already full. It will be pretty busy during this time. But go at your own pace, relax and have a great time.

We are staying at the Coronado springs. Did you like it when you stayed there? The kids are really looking forward to the pool area and slide. We are booked for all evening dinners around 7:30pm the only ts I had to get for lunch was le cellier and it is for 1:00pm so of course that day is going to be a Epcot Day. If we skip alot of the sale shops and just do the rides and sites we should be able to do all park in a day shouldn't we.

We did really like Coronado Springs! It has a great pool area! It's a large resort so I would request a room close to the Pool, Bus stop or Main building whichever is more important to you. The theming is great! CS has alot of perks that the other moderates don't have, you'll have a great time!

I think w/out taking any "leave the park" breaks, you''ll be able to "do" whatever park your in during one day for the most part. However, if you need to go back to your resort for the sugar tesing/insulin, take the time to do so. It'll be an hour each way at the max. My grandmother has a travel kit that keeps her insulin cool. You could check into that if you need insulin and that way you could just bring it with you in a fanny pack or back pack. We always take breaks but we do it in the park. We'll find a bench, or rocking chair on a porch and sit and people watch and get a drink. We also count our meals as a break. There are many many great places to take breaks in Epcot. We let our kids play in the fountain area and get soaking wet while we sit on the bench and watch. It's quite entertaining! Also, the countries are a great place to take a break. Either people watch or watch the shows/movies/entertainers.

Have a great time!
