Hi there,

Who am I?
I'm new on the board, though have been a listener/viewer to the Disunplugged for a couple of months now and am so very happy to have found this online community!!

My name is Dominique and I live in Rotterdam , Netherlands.
My 'home' park is Disneyland Paris and I've been there countless times since the opening in 1992.
I have visited the original Disneyland in 2008 and DisneyWorld in 2010 and 2012.

Now after some years of saving , we are finally coming home again to The World!!

I'm traveling together with my partner (who is also named Dominique.. no really!.. and were both guys too.. so that's clear, since many seem to think Dominique is more of a ladies name.. well it could be, but in this case it's not)

With two more Disney friends we will be staying
1. at Universal Studios Pacific resort from 21st to 23rd
2. and then the big stay in Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter from July 23rd through August 4th!

We had a great offer since we are living in Europe we can book thought Disney's travel company (the uk version of the DisneyWorld official booking site),
and a big advantage is the great deals they have when booking early. As I understood those are only available to European countries. So we made use of that and I'm very happy with the deal we got.

We are paying $ 5.327,11 total (flights not included) for a ten night stay at Port Orleans French Quarter.
Included is :
- 10 nights, garden view room
- 14 day hopper pass for the price of 7 with water parks and more,
- free quick service dining plan, which we upgraded to the regular dining plan
- free memory maker
- $200,- spending money (Disney gift card)
- so p/p that's $ 1.331,77 each, we felt this was the best deal we could get.. what do you think?

- of course flying in from Europe is expensive so that adds up to it (about a $ 1000 p/p roundtrip AMS ORL), and we added a two night stay at Universal studio. The first time we went to Disneyworld we concluded our holiday with a two night stay at Universal.. that somehow did not work for us, awesome as we thought Universal was, we still are more Disney fans .. so now we are changed this around.

Ok.. so I started planning, read everything there is to read and now I would really like to share our Itinerary in the hope you will all be so kind as to share your opinion with me on how well I planned those ten nights for us .. 4 adults.. we do not mind waking up early, are all healthy and in the age range around 40 and all pretty Disney minded.

here we go ;

1 - Saturday July 23rd - traveling from AMS to ORL - transfer to US Royal Pacific
2 - Sunday - USF + IOA
3- Monday - IOA + USF - evening transfer to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter
4- Tuesday - full day Animal Kingdom - late afternoon dinner in Sanaa, then back for new evening show
5- Wednesday - full day Hollywood Studios - dining at 50's prime time (our favorite in WDW)
6- Thursday - morning : Typhoon Lagoon , lunch at Disney springs, afternoon relax at hotelpool + Hoop dee dooh!
7- Friday - full day Epcot - afternoon break at hotel, dining at Tepan Edo + EMH EPCOT
8- Saturday - full day Magic Kingdom - afternoon 3 hour break at hotel - dining a Be Our Guest + EMH
9- Sunday - sleep in - relax - go with whatever we want.. diner at Ohana, evening pick our favorite evening show and go there for the evening
10- Monday - SeaWorld + evening at Disney Springs, to catch diner and a movie
11- Tuesday - morning Epcot + afternoon Hollywood studios , diner at Sci-Fi diner
12- Wednesday - morning animal kingdom + afternoon Magic Kingdom , evening dining California grill
13- Thursday 4th of August travel day ORL - AMS

I am very curious what you think of this plan..

any tips.. or comments.. or questions are welcome...

kind regards
Dominique,
Rotterdam, Netherlands

I think your plans look great and super fun! We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside this past June. We liked taking the boat to Disney Springs. It stopped at French quarter on the way.

Have you been to Disney in the summer? Heat and humidity can be awful, but we found some air conditioning, drank plenty of water and took breaks back at the resort.

You got an awesome deal on your trip!
I'm trying to convince my husband to take us (we have 3 boys) to Disneyland Paris the next time we visit his family in London!

Thanks for your reaction!
Yes we have been to DisneyWorld in the summer heat before and once in january
(both trip compilation videos are posted here )
we managed the heat and took afternoon breaks at the hotel or longer lunch breaks in airconditioned places, it was tough at times.. but we still preferred the summer busier time to the cooler january time, because in summer there is just much more going on and hours are longer, we didn't mind the crowds and with proper planning managed to beat the crowds every day :).

Disneyland Paris has a really beautiful magic kingdom park and an awesome castle and evening show,
and although the second park, Walt Disney Studios, gets lots of critical reviews because the park really does not look very beautiful, the rides are among the best in the resort.
If your boys are old enough to ride some rollercoasters then they will be in for a blast on our version of Space Mountain and Big thunder mountain with both trump their brothers in DLA and WDW!

Hope you'll get there!

Question : Since we will be leaving WDW only for one day in this itinerary (monday) to get to Seaward, we are wondering what's the best way to get there.. just take a taxi is the first option.. and I am reading a lot about Uber.. the thing is that we are from Europe and Uber has been banned here in the Netherlans for providing illegal non licensed taxi services so I have no idea how it works, if it's safe and ok to use in Orlando.. How does it work when you do not have an USA based mobile phone ... ?

Ok so our itinerary has changed a bit since times of the parks opening hours have changed since first making this program , that and the ADR's are now set and made!

1 - Saturday July 23rd - traveling from AMS to ORL - transfer to US Royal Pacific

2 - Sunday - USF + IOA

3- Monday - IOA + USF - evening transfer to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter ; catch Illuminations at Epcot and if possible catch the evening activity of the DIS celebration and act like a fan and scream hysterical when meeting Pete!!!! ;)

4- Tuesday- full day Magic Kingdom - dining a Be Our Guest

5- Wednesday - full day Epcot - dining at Tepan Edo

6- Thursday - sleep in, Disney Springs/ Disney Quest if it's still open, afternoon relax at hotelpool + Hoop dee dooh in the evening!!

7- Friday -breakfast at Tusker - full day Animal Kingdom - dinner at Rainforest Cafe

8- Saturday - Second day at Magic Kingdom until 4PM, then change and dinner at Victoria & Alberts!!! BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!

9- Sunday - full day Hollywood Studios - dining at Hollywood Brown Derby with a Fantasmic dinner package!

10- Monday - SeaWorld + evening at Disney Springs, to catch diner and a movie

11- Tuesday - morning Animal Kingdom + afternoon Hollywood studios , diner at 50's Prime Time

12- Wednesday - morning Epcot + afternoon Magic Kingdom , lunch at be our guest and evening dining at Chef Mickey's

13- Thursday 4th of August travel day ORL - AMS

Phew.. it was quit a hassle making all the dinner reservations, but I managed.
Now I am just waiting for the times to change again when they change the schedules of Animal Kingdom's evening hours...

Does anyone have any tips when looking at our itinerary?

Following along!

I am taking a trip in July also and ran across your thread! I will be there earlier in July! I have booked Be Our Guest, we went on last trip and it is just so beautiful inside!

We love Hoop de Doo - such a fun experience!!

I've always wanted to try 50's Prime Time but on all 3 previous trips we always went back to Sci Fi! We loved the atmosphere :)

Chef Mickeys - we have done twice, both times for breakfast!
