Finally took the plunge...

I just hit send on a DVC point rental contract for VWL. After MUCH debate and many, now moot, threads on this board we are able to say we are staying at the VWL *in a 1 bedroom this September!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!

We just couldn't get into the trip planning thinking about staying anywhere else. I realize how lucky we are to be staying there again especially after we thought we'd never get to stay there again, since my little one will now be older than 3, but with point rental it was seemingly fine and legal with 5 in the room - we had no problem booking.

I am looking forward to see how this point rental thing works out - so far so good - nice and smooth. I hope it goes well as I see this as a great alternative for us for many years to come!

So now I can relax and enjoy the planning. We are going to our happy place.

I am right where you are. We were going to stay at POFQ again, but even though we absolutely love the resort, we couldn't get excited about paying double what we paid two years ago.
So, we are renting DVC points for a split stay between BCV & AKV studios. We wanted BWV, but couldn't get it due to Thanksgiving crowds.

I am so glad you are excited! WLV is a great choice too. You will be very close to MK and I think with a little one that is what you are looking for.

Here's to hoping that your DVC rental (and mine) work out!

I desperately want to stay at WL, but we're also a family of five and I thought we'd have to book a two bedroom to do so. Are you taking Magical Express? Were you able to add everyone in your party?

I'm watching this thread with much interest, because WL is where I'd want to be, too, if a 1 bedroom could accommodate the five of us!

Yes, I was told by someone that DVC WILL accomodate 5 in a one bedroom. So when I rented the points I made sure and yes, they will. When I look at our reservation on the DVC website we are all listed and therefore WILL be able to take ME. Why they allow it for DVC and not cash reservations I do not know.

And we have stayed in a 1 bedroom for the last 2 years and LOVE it - the 3 kids have to share the sofa bed, but they are still small enough that it's not a problem, eventually we'd need to bring an air mattress, but that's fine.

This is how much we love VWL - it just wouldn't be a Disney trip without it!!!
