Long time lurker, first time poster here haha

My husband and I have been going to Disney World together since 2005. Added kids into the mix in 2014 and have been going almost yearly as a family, while I try to go about 2-3 times a year either with friends or my daughter!

Well after 10+ years of discussing DVC and trying to make the math work, my husband gave me the ok to go ahead with resale!! I’ve been searching for a small Poly contract 50-75 to get our feet wet so to speak, with a spring use year as we always travel in May/June during the kids summer break. (And yes I know about Poly 2).

About a week and a half ago I found a 70 point contract with a February use year and my husband said jump on it, so I put in an offer in. I then noticed there were two identical contracts listed with exact same points and use years. When I spoke with the broker she said it was the same seller and did I want to put an offer in on both. I casually mentioned it to my husband just knowing he would say no. But he said go ahead and put an offer on both of them, you said that 70 wasn’t enough point anyways!! So I did and they were both accepted!! 🙌🏻
They went into ROFR on March 28, so the waiting game continues….🙃

Last week I continued to browse the resale sites(addonitis is so real) and I found a 100 point BC contract with February year use. I know BC is not a good value due to the shorter contract, but our kids LOVE that resort and the pool! The Epcot area is our favorite and we love being able to walk to both Epcot and Hollywood! I put in an offer for considerably less than what they were asking, thinking that they would probably say no. But I knew I would feel bad had I not even tried. Surprisingly the seller excepted my offer! It went into ROFR on 04/02 and the torture has now truly begun. I know my chances of it passing ROFR are probably less than 30%, so I’m trying not to get my hopes up…But I’m not doing a good job by the way…sigh…🤪

It’s super exciting to think about jumping into DVC headfirst owning at both a monorail resort and one within walking distance of Epcot and HK.

Y’all send some good vibes our way for passing ROFR and speedily please!!

LOL - you went from dipping your toe in to possibly getting 240 points. You'll fit right in around here! Welcome and good luck with ROFR. Keep us up to date in the ROFR thread. You'll find plenty of enablers, I mean friends, in that thread.

Good luck! Check out and post in the ROFR thread. Poly typically is an easy pass, but DVC changes their ROFR strategy at the drop of a dime it seems :)

I did almost the exact same thing! I started with a 75 point BCV contract. I was so convinced it was not going to pass ROFR, I bought a 50 point PVB contract. Then I saw a 100 point PVB contract with full 2020 banked points and full 2021 points (same use year as the 50 point PVB) so I bought that too. Then I saw a 25 point BCV contract (same use year as the 75 point BCV contract) and bought that too! So far my 75 point BCV contract has passed ROFR. Waiting on the others. But I've gone from 75 points to hopefully 250 points. So glad my husband talked me out of putting an offer in on a 100 point BWV contract! My only regret is that my BCV contracts and PVB contracts are not the same use year. I didn't think about it enough at the time.

Good luck to you!

Thank you!

And congrats on your 75 BCV passing! I hope your others do as well, along with mine! 🤞🏻Mine all having February use years is what sold me to go ahead and put in the offer on BCV. I know it will make things much easier in the future. That’s an awesome Poly contract BTW!

Picked two great resort choices. Enjoy the resale adventure. It will definitely be very exciting as you pass each stage to membership. The money saved will make it all worth it.

I just love it!! This is a great community here on disboards and wait 'till you meet other owners at WDW! Hang out at the pool and make some friends. DH and enjoy the downtime in between busy times at the parks with our son and DIL. Most DVC people are fun, happy and take their vacations seriously. Welcome!

I wouldn't mind adding a small BCV contract! Never stayed there, but I love the location and the resort looks lovely! We own VGF and CCV so BCV would give us a nice Epcot resort.
Still may pull the trigger on a RIV contract instead one of these days. Will wait until we get closer to my use year though (March), like getting current points and next year points together. I think Riviera's location is almost as good as BCV and BW. Polynesian resale seems a little expensive to me right now, it may be worth waiting for Polynesian2 since it may end up being a separate condo association.

I think another good thing about Polynesian is it actually has pretty good access to Epcot from the Monorail. We usually walk to Polynesian from VGF and have breakfast at CC and then on to TTC and off to Epcot, lots of fun!

I agree! Great location! We were there this past September and we preferred to walk straight to the TTC and bypass the Poly resort monorail on many occasions.

Since you bought from the same Seller Get the title company to combine/bundle those two poly contracts to save you some cash on the closing costs.

Bundling two or more contracts will save you almost half on the combined closing (40% less give or take). I've done it four times, two just by luck and two once I realized the savings involved! Smart!

This is why I love this board! So much invaluable information. I just emailed my broker this morning. 🤞🏻
