Finally Southwest Airlines Open up flights

Thanks for posting SW was open! I booked for my family, Bradley to Orlando 1298.00 for 5 people. Nonstop each way, bonus for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if prices do go down with Southwest if they offer a voucher or anything for the difference? I bought now because prices seemed pretty good $140 each way (have been checking the fare calendar - yes I am a compulsive planner) Trying to keep on budget (bringing MIL for first trip and My Mom for one of her last, yes you read that right!) But I am already trying to keep next years trip budget in mind.....:)

You don't get a voucher, but you get a credit for a future flight that needs to be used within one year. (So if you booked yesterday and the price goes down, rebook and then you have until June 4th, 2013 to use the credit - which means you actually have to fly by June 4, 2013.)

I fly SW all the time and always rebook and use credits. It is very easy to do. The best times to check flights are Tues-Thurs because that is when SW usually releases sale fares.

I've been waiting for SWA to open up their calendar as well...however flights from Denver are SKY high so I didn't jump on trying to change our tickets. Just FYI..SWA has their anniversary sale every June. I spoke to a SWA during my recently ticket purchase debacle (long story) and she told me to expect the sale again this year mid-end of June. I've heard the prices are the lowest during this sale. I sure hope so..only have half our trip booked and need to change outbound and purchase return (again) :)

Thanks for the Tip!:woohoo:

Thanks! Maybe I will have to squeeze a Mommy & Daddy trip in if they do!

I also didn't book our flights today because SW usually has sales and the prices will go down. We just have to keep an eye.

Don't wait too long! The MCO - PHL 12/16 Non Stop flight at the end of the day sold out in 8 hours! :scared1:

Don't wait too long! The MCO - PHL 12/16 direct flight at the end of the day sold out in 8 hours! :scared1:

A direct flight might make one (or more) stops but through passengers stay on the same aircraft. A person who books a direct flight won't be happy if they think they're booking a non-stop flight.

The flight you mentioned is a N/S flight. Southwest has a (much) earlier N/S flight with availability. They have several connecting flights on 12/16 with availability.

The last N/S flight on 12/16 is completely booked, at every fare. Enough passengers want a peak flight, Sunday early evening N/S flight, to completely sell the flight hours after it was made available.

Passengers have to decide what's more important. The exact flight they want or the best possible fare. Many posters on DIS are looking for cheap fares. There are people who stay at the GF, paying rack rate. There are passengers who'll pay a (sometimes much) higher fare to get the flights they want. A lot of posters on DIS wait for the fares they want. Sometimes they win. Sometimes the flights they really want sell out, or are never offered at the fare they want.

Just booked SW roundtrip nonstop from Denver for our December dates. $110 each way!

What? Wow..gonna look for my dates right now! Just looked and pretty much every day but ours are on sale for $110 each..lol. I'm still hoping and waiting for the sale. Unfortunately our dates aren't flexible so I'm stuck watching and waiting.

Congrats on a GREAT fare!!!

Congrats on a GREAT fare!!!

We booked a bounce back offer for December 9th for 5 nights so we are fixed dates too. Hope your dates come up for the low price. This fare is much lower than our May dates of this year and I thought I got a good deal then.
