Hello everyone!!

DH and I joined DVC on our recent cruise on The Dream!! :cool1: We got a good deal (incentive wise) my only complaint is that we didn't join sooner. ;)

We don't have access to the DVC website yet, we are still waiting on our access code. How long is that suppose to take? We have not made the full down payment yet, which they are suppose to debit this week. Maybe after the debit we will get our access code?

I am anxious to bank our points to 2012 and book our next visit for October. We do plan on staying at AKL first (our home resort):dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

But the next resort on our list is GF. I didn't see a points calendar in my booklet for the GF. The calendar for GF was listed per night. Why is that? Is there not a weekly rate?

I'm reading through all the threads and trying to learn as much as I can. :thumbsup2

Thanks :)

DVC at the Grand Floridian was just mentioned a few weeks ago, so that would be why there is no info in your books about it. I'm sure you can try a google search to find out when they hope to have it opened by.

We called DVC member services after our down payment was credited to our account and we received our member cards. We got those long before we closed. They gave us the access code. They also banked the points while we were on the phone with them.

Congrats! We also purchased while on the Dream this summer. Like you, wished we had done it years ago.

Welcome home!

The Grand Floridian does not currently have a DVC component so you would be trading out to the Disney Collection in order to stay there. In addition to the points required it will be a $95 exchange fee. For the DVC resorts they list the weekly amount for convenience but it is no different than the sum of the daily point requirements listed. For the Disney collection they don't bother listing weekly - perhaps assuming most will stay for a shorter amount of time or perhaps just because no one bothered to add it on.

Thanks everyone!!! I knew I could count on you guys for my answers!!
:goodvibes

BuzzLiteyear, We really enjoyed the cruise. It was our first cruise. After signing up they gave us a DVC magnet and I immediately put it on our cabin door. ;)

As soon as your payment clears, call MS and get your access codes. If you have trouble getting the reservation that you want, contact your Guide for one time help.
