After a few YEARS of research, two tours through DVC (one at SSR one a while back at BCV), we finally took the plunge and bought into the Boardwalk. We passed ROFR and will close in the next couple weeks through the board's sponsor. The only downer...we're 53 weeks away from heading home. 
We've rented twice, from the same DISer (tip of the hat to Christina), and loved it both times. Everything finally fell into place for us, can hardly wait the year.
A couple of questions, though: In my time lurking here I remember reading that transferred points tend to lose their use year or their resort, could somebody clear that up? I know it's not an "official" Disney thing, but I remember reading it.
I've got a few points to rent off that I can't/won't use the first year, can anybody who's rented in the past let me know if the experience here is better than on eBay? I know you can get a few more bucks on eBay, but it's almost like the fees and (possible) hassle aren't worth it.
Now, if I only had more time to read and post here...
