This is from MVMCP Thursday night. The weather was not very good, but I finally got a decent photo of Tinkerbell. Hope you enjoy.

Update:

With so many people thinking they see a "stash," I thought I'd go through the files and find another shot from that night. Here's one where you can "plainly" see there's no mustache. Also, there's an awful lot of equipment under her outfit which might make her look "manly." Again, I think this is a Tink "helper." The real Tinkerbell would never have enough time for a job.

For those who care, I used a Canon 20D with a 50mm 2.8 lens (effective focal length of 80mm). I had the aperture wide open with a shutter speed of 1/50 sec @ ISO 3200.

COOL :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
I always miss it and get the tail end of it.....Thanks for sharing!!!! princess:

Oh my gosh! Your pictures are awesome! What kind of camera and where did you take them from? My always come out a blurry mess and/or Tink looks microscopic!

Maybe it's just me but it looks as if Tink could very very well be a man!!!!

is that a man????!!!! Look at them muscular legs... and mustache??

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought it was a man.

I thought the same thing when I first looked at the pictures...I think it's just a "butch" girl her arms look huge! :rotfl: :rotfl:
Seriously.....I think its just the angle she is hanging on the wire.
BTW, you got some great pictures of Tink...she "whips" by so fast! Thanks for sharing!

I think it's a man too. I am scarred for life.

I can tell you we were there a year ago, I got a shot almost as good as the OP, and my family had a great time laughing about the fact that Tinkerbell was obviously a man! I would never have told, but since it's already out there! We never would have known without the photo because "she" moves so fast! :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rolleyes1 :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Thanks! I use a Canon Digital D20 with a Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 lens. I took this photo at 50mm (with this camera, though, you multiply by 1.6 so it's really 80mm--I know, sounds confusing :)) The camera has very high ISO, so I set it at 3200 ISO and exposure was 1/50 second at 2.8. I already had the focus set, so I just clicked away. Tink looks fairly tiny on the uncropped original, but there is enough resolution that I could crop and still get a decent photo. I took the photo at the beginning of the bridge to Tomorrowland where she zooms right over your head.

As far as Tink being a man, I know she looks "husky," but I remember reading about her. Seems like she worked in gymnastics/circus--something where being zoomed through the air on a cable wasn't totally out her experience.

Here's another one.

I had heard the same thing that the "person" that flys as Tink is a woman that was formally a gymnast. That would explain her huskieness (sp?). I also heard that Tink isn't all that young either, but instead a woman in her 50's...

As my DW said, "You must have quite a camera!" What was your "secret formula"? (Camera, shutterspeed, position, etc) All I have ever gotten are blurry smears!

I heard that they have several women who play Tink. Which seems logical, the same person cannot work 7 days a week, 365 days a year (weather permitting). I also heard that the women who play Tink have other jobs within Disney, that this is just one of their duties.
