FINALLY Had Pimento Cheese!!

There's a local maker of Chipotle Cheddar spread(similar in texture to pimento cheese) that has a deli where they serve a sandwich consisting of thinly-sliced roast beef topped with that cheese spread, on ciabatta bread with an au jus on the side and oh my goodness I think I need to take off my shirt because it's suddenly very hot in here

I've only had the Kraft in a jar, I think that's all I've ever seen in the store around here. We used to spread it on toasted English Muffins when I was a kid. We also used the aforementioned pizza spread on English muffins. My mom would put anything on an English Muffin and call it lunch. It would be interesting to try homemade, perhaps a project for some afternoon.

This is so sad, a Sarah MacLachlan song should be playing....

Hahahah! I'm in So Cal so I'm sure it's not exactly a hotbed of cheese spread demand. But I do remember liking it as a kid, so I'm sure I would like the real stuff even more.

Oh, gosh, I love pimento cheese! Even had it on my southern burger at D-Luxe last week! Couldn't pass it up!
Thank you! I KNEW I had seen it mentioned first in relation to D-Luxe!

Now that sounds GOOD!!

It was a pretty good burger but really hard to eat! The pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes kept falling out the opposite side. It was hard to get a bite with all the elements of the burger in place, but when I did it was delish!!

That's not how you eat it. Put it on bread and toast it.

I'm officially the authority on this as I'm actually from the "Palmetto State". We love pimento cheese and especially t he brand, Palmetto Cheese! They do sell it at Orlando Sam's Club!

I don't mean to sound stupid (but I can't help it apparently) :jester: - do you mean put the pimento cheese on toast, or put it on untoasted bread, and then like put it under the broiler or something? Want to maybe try this. Thanx. :)

Put a layer on bread and then put in the toaster oven on toast. You could put it in the actual oven. You just want it warm but I prefer the bread itself crisp on the bottom, too.

I'd never had warm pimento cheese until eating at Newk's, but I think their sandwich is pretty gold for a chain.

Palmetto brand is my personal favorite. Here in Charlotte we have Queen Charlotte. Yummy also!
