Since my girlfriend is sick of hearing about it I thought I would post here since it looks like everyone here loves photography too.

Now that I bought my Canon Digital Rebel XT I won't have to borrow friend's cameras anymore! But you can bet that I'll borrow their lenses!

Thanks to everyone who helped me make up my mind, particularly Mark and MasterMason.

your welcome, enjoy it, and post pictures....

and beware of the dreaded LBA affliction that comes to most with dSLR's

That's what I'm afraid of. Is it bad that I'm already thinking about foregoing all meals while I'm in Disney so that I can stock up a new lense or two? Hahaha

Well, here is the first photo I took with it. It was too cloudy and crummy in Boston yesterday to get anything decent, I'll try today though.

Haha, thanks. I got that flag when I lived in Ireland during the 2002 World Cup. Gotta love the Guinness toucan with a soccer ball!

Now that the weather is nice, I took a few more today. Here are a few of them. Let me know what you think. For the most part, they were taken in program mode since the light seemed to be cooperating. The bottom one is an HDR I threw together in a test of the Photomatix software.

Heading back to campus on such a beautiful day made me wish I was still in college!

Thanks everyone. I'm enjoying experimenting with the new camera. I have been interested in photography for awhile and have a small graphic design background so that has helped. But I finally decided to take the plunge and make a real hobby out it.

I broke down and bought Photomatix so hopefully I can take a bunch of HDR shots when I hit Disney in August (I noticed the Disney HDR thread pretty much died with no pictures in it!).

Unfortunately, studying for the bar exam is getting in the way of my photography...
