Went to Disney Store this a.m. They had 10 Elsa dresses in all (size 3, size 4 and size 7/8). It was a lottery. One lady got both the size 3 because she was the only one who had her name in for those. There were 5 people for the size 4 but only available. And 8 people for the size 7/8 and only 4 available. I was the last name called for last dress available. My local Disney store said that Frozen merchandise will only be out on Saturdays and dresses (whatever they get and how many) will always be a lottery. Today at the Disney Store there were Anna animation dolls, the 12 inch classic Elsa doll (Barbie size), the large singing Elsa doll,. and Olaf plush. Also had some Elsa nightgowns and T-shirts.

Forget to mention that all Frozen merchandise is kept behind the sales counter and a limit of two is set on everything. The dresses are not put out and they give instructions when store opens and it's then if you find out if any dresses came in. Have to say I've seen both the Disney Parks and Disney Store Elsa dress and IMO the Disney Store has a much nicer dress. Good luck to all.

I was at the one at Mall of Georgia today at 10:30am and they were already sold out of the Frozen merchandise then.

Luckily I'm not frantic to get anything. I figured if I could pick up a dress for my niece I would.

Disney really dropped the ball on this. I have seen so much merchandise for movies that didn't do even close to as good as Frozen did and for some reason it seems they didn't anticipate to have a lot of merchandise for Frozen. Try to find a comforter too!

As I sat watching Frozen in the theater, I thought out loud- I hope Disney is ready for this. DD asked ready for what? I said Anna and Elsa dresses for every girl on earth under the age of 12. And a few boys too.

I think it's because the movie appeals to such a wide audience. Not just little girls. I love it and have watched it several times now. My husband has sat and watched it. My 31 and 32 yo sons. 28 and 19 year old daughters. All their friends. Everyone knows and sings the songs. There are hundreds of youtube videos of people all ages singing and lip synching to them. It's crazy. And kind of great. Disney hit this one out of the park.

This is an interesting article- I don't think they're doing this on purpose either- http://www.cbc.ca/news/disney-races-to-restock-frozen-merchandise-1.2621483

I've also heard that due to Chinese new year many factories close or reduce production for up to a month. Then add in the shipping time ( via boat like most cargo) which can be about six weeks, I ca see why there is still a shortage. I hope it they get it together by this summer. I have a September trip and I think at least one of my girls will want a Elsa dress.

If you're ok with another (non official disney) brand, check with your local independent toy store. Little Adventures has a really lovely (and comfy looking) Elsa dress they are selling. Anna too, plus American Girl size dresses.

The toy shop I work at is taking preorders for a July shipment and word on the street is that most places are doing the same. It's a quality brand than many small stores carry or might be willing to carry.
