Finally spoke with a AAA agent who got my discount off the room portion of my package!! For myself, dh, dd (15) ds (8). 7 nights, CBR (standard room), 7 day MYW tickets, with PH option.... dining package.... $2555.54!!! I'm pretty happy right now! Thank you to WDWBetsy for suggesting I call another agent and give up on the locals. Don't know why the local office didn't believe me, but they didn't and quoted me almost $500 higher!!

What exactly did you do? I've got a AAA package deal for July of this year and would love to save even more money, but my local (so Cal) AAA agent doesn't seem to know much about WDW vacations. I had to inform here of the "Magical Express" service just to get that charge deducted from my bill.

Are you calling some sort of "National" AAA? If so, what's the number?

Thanks!

I'm not sure all AAA agents are up to speed on the discounts, especially as it relates to hotel only and not a complete package. I e-mailed the local internet AAA agent for the Carolinas, and was quoted a hotel only price of $609 for the ASSp for 7 nights (Sep. 16-23). That is the EXACT same price that Disney quotes on their website, so I e-mailed her back and asked if she could quote the price with the AAA discount. She informed me that that WAS the price with the discount, which obviously is incorrect. So how do you find a AAA agent that knows what they're doing?

Actually I called AAA in Costa Mesa California.... the agent here in Maine just believed the CM when she would tell her the quote included the discount- which not only did it NOT but there were other things included (must have been water parks on tickets etc) The Maine agent basically thought I was a nut who had no idea what I was talking about. Little did SHE know! :earboy2:

hokeyfan33 and ganggreen4jc:

I PMed you both with the agent's phone number. If she's not available, someone else can probably help. I was just really impressed with how nice my agent was, and she was willing to question the quotes given to her.

Hope this helps!

So glad that people are getting the AAA discounts + dining!

Don't forget that any travel agent can give you the AAA discount, not only the AAA agents. If you're having problems with your AAA agency, switch to another agent/company (or call Disney direct and book the room/package with AAA discount).

The main reason for booking directly through a AAA travel agency is so you can get the AAA room discount, plus the MYW tickets and dining plan. You can get the AAA room discount from any other travel agent and directly through Disney, but at this time you can not add on the dining plan to a discounted room rate.

It saved me $231 - and we are getting 25 Disney Dollars for booking in January.

I spoke with an AAA agent who originally told me I had a discounted rate, but I didn't. I emailed her & said that this was a problem lots of AAA agents were having, and she got a new, correct quote for me. She was told by Disney that the rate was discounted, so she believed them. I can understand why the AAA agents would trust disney. Good thing we here at the DIS trust no one!! :teeth:

I'm in NJ, I got this agent through an email form on the Mid-Atlantic website. I'm not sure where she is located. If anyone wants her contact info, let me know. I think she knows to double check for discounts now!

i had the same issue. i went to an aaa office nj & they got a rate for me.
i wanted 1 bdrm-anywhere, they called while i was there & were told by disney there is no aaa discount on 1 bdrm. i went home & tried to get more info from these boards & the wdw site. i decided on a deluxe suite at the bwi so i called my aaa agent back. she called me with the rates & i asked if it included the discount & she said yes. it came to about 5300 w/tix & dining.
it sounded kinda high. i went on the disney site & sure enough-the same rate. there was no aaa discount. i called cro & requested the aaa rate for the same room. aaa was off by $600.00.
i called aaa the next morning & spoke w/another agent-mine wasnt in & i told her the aaa rate from cro is discounted, yours isnt. if you cant give me the aaa rate as aaa member i'll book it directly w/cro. well surprise, surprise-i got a call back in 10 minutes with the new package rate of 4700.00.
i found my aaa office wasnt very familiar w/disney(the office services mostly seniors/snowbirds)but they did help me. they blame the problem on disney using codes they werent told about.
just know your facts & do your research. you pay for aaa so you have the right to make them work for you.
sorry so long!

I used the number WDWBetsy gave me and wasn't able to talk to her agent but another in that office and her FIRST quote was even cheaper than I (and Betsy) had figured!! I'm telling ya- the agent here thought I was out of my mind, and while that may be true, I do know Disney!!

Next trip for just DH and I will be Oct 15-23 during the Food and Wine Festival. We are interested in Coronado Springs and would like to book a package to include the dining option. After reading about the discounts here on the DIS, I sent in my check to join AAA just this week. But after reading further posts, now I am clueless now about how to get the best rate. I live in north Jersey and don't know a thing about AAA or their services yet. If we stay at CS for 8 nights, add on 7 day BASE tickets, and the dining option, what's the best price I can expect with a AAA discount. The WDW price quote for this pkg. is $2306.

Could you post the no. of the AAA agent so we can all see? I'd be interested in talking to her also. My local AAA has no CLUE on Disney packages. Thanks. :flower1:

I agree with WDWBetsy I booked through my AAA and they saved me over 420.00. I booked the Lagoon Concierge room at the Poly for July. I am happy with the price I got. If anyone would like the name and number of the Agent I used Just PM me and I will give it to ya. :D

I'm not sure if I can post that, so to be safe - if anyone wants the info, PM me and I'll send you my agent's name.

msr709 - I will send you a PM with the contact info in a minute.

Glad to help everyone - I know I was frustrated trying to get a quote that reflected the discount.
