Finally got a pin for Free Dining and can't use it!

Got a PIN today for free dining. I'd jump on it in a heartbeat if we hadn't already booked to go to Cuba. Doesn't it just figure.

Oh well...another time.

Doh! I might have gotten the same one but it expires end of June. Our trip isn't till October! Have fun in Cuba!

How does one achieve the privilege of getting one of these pins?? I'll get a notifcation from my Disney visa account, but that's it. What's the secret??

I don't know. I have only used them for my pictures with the photo thing and I had ordered a planning DVD a long time ago. I've never booked through Disney and never stayed onsite. If they had sent me this two months ago, I might have booked. But I'm looking forward to a change of pace this year. Sitting on a warm beach with a drink in my hand. LOL

What do the emails look like? Do they clearly have a PIN? I seem to get a lot of Disney emails, just wondering if I missed one or if I would even notice...

It is a regular looking email from Disney but towards the bottom it says "Be sure to have your PIN ready: *pin number here* Just looked through my deleted emails and I had another offer months ago I never noticed. Wow! They must want me back.

How did you get a Disney Visa account here in Canada? I've tried but it wouldn't let me apply because of where I live.

I got the email yesterday too and haven't used one in about 10 years! They still keep sending ...

I have one too ... but geeez, how about send one with some lead time. Send me one for next year please ... I will book it right now! Duhhh!

DH gets them all the time. He has already had 2 this year. The latest one is also for FD...the last day to get it is also the day we are arriving. Sounds great but we are going to a convention at the Dolphin and really don't think it will work for us. We have planned to stay at Bonnet Creek and will most likely go to dinner several nights with some of the other people we are at the convention with. Plus, we would end up buying meals while at the Dolphin. I crunched the numbers and it appears that getting FD would cost a little bit more than staying offsite this time. I would have to pay $150+/night to stay at POP....that's nuts.

This really isn't a WDW trip anyway. We will spend a day or two in the parks and maybe a day at the waterpark....mainly we will be at the convention.
