Finally got a kindle!

Love it! I thought I might miss the feel of a book- but truthfully, with the arthritis in my thumbs it's great not having to hold a big book. Can't wait to take it camping this summer.

I got the one with "special offers" which is a nice way of saying ads. But they only show up when you're not reading, so it's an easy way to save $25.

Amazon just started Sunshine Deals on over 600 books. You might be able to get a few good books for under $3.00 each.

You can download a lot of books at low cost or free. I have many of the classics on my Kindle at no cost!

Cool! I keep looking at them and wanting one, mostly because I'm kind of a tech toy addict, I think. I read a lot, but I'm also a tactile person and I *know* that part of my love of books is touching the paper. I know...I'm weird. But you (OP) say you thought you'd miss the feel of the book and you're still loving yours. Maybe I'll have to break down and get one when they come down a bit more in price, in case I hate it and end up chucking it in a drawer to languish forever.

My big question is when are university textbook publishers going to start offering textbooks in Kindle form? I KNOW I would have had one if they were available back when I was in college. Would have saved me a lot of back and shoulder pain!
