Thanks for the TU Mickey!
I had a bad day yesterday.
My step mother is in the hospital, and I went up to see her when my dad was going up. The hospital is about 30 miles from me, so I met Dad and followed him to the hospital since the road we needed, was closed. Well, suffice it to say that he got lost, and we had to stop along the street so I could get out and refresh his memory about where he needed to go. He starts out again, and my van goes about 2 feet and there is a loud BANG and it stops dead! I could back up but not go forward, so I knew the transmission had blown. As luck would have it, I am only about 10 minutes from where DH works, so I call him. As I am on the phone with him, my dad (who has turned around now and is headed back) sails past me and waves!!!
He has no idea I am not moving! DH comes and informs me the tranny is broken...DUH, I KNEW that!! As luck would have it, the tow truck from our end of the city that services our local transmission shop was in the area, and within 10 minutes they had my car on the hook and headed toward the south end of the city! DH took me over to the hospital and picked me up later to take me home. Now I am stuck with our big oversize, extra long E250 heavy duty dog show van for my transportation! We have a snow storm coming too, and I HATE driving that big old bus in that kind of weather!
