Hello All
I need opinions, I want to stay at a Magic Kingdom deluxe resort and am having trouble deciding between Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Poly. Any and all opinions would be appreciated. I am going in August and am taking my 5 yr old daughter.

The Contemporary is my favorite out of those three. Being able to walk to the Magic Kingdom and not rely on any Disney transportation is amazing. Then you're only one stop from the TTC to transfer to Epcot so I feel like two parks are pretty easily accessible. I also like how in the tower rooms you don't have to go outside, whereas the other two hotels you do unless you're staying club level at GF.

We’ve stayed at all of them several times. I would pick contemporary to be able to walk to the magic kingdom or the poly for the large rooms, great food choices and wonderful pool for your 5 year old.

WOW! That is one tough choice!

Does you little girl love to swim? Is she a real little princess that loves pretty things and to dress up? Then I would choose the GF. Is she a bit of an energetic tomboy and loves 'cool' things like a monorail going through 'her' hotel? Then I would choose the CR. Is playing in the sand something that she would love? How about watching fireworks while in the pool? Do you plan much time in Epcot? Then I would book the Poly.

Don't forget considering the theme that Mom and Dad will love. usually the children are happy wherever the parents are happy. Have a look at picturewsw online to see if either theme really resonates with you.

Most people really enjoy the Poly, so it is a default choice that is usually positive.

All three are tied for my favourite resorts in WDW. FWIW, my first trip that I took my 2 grand daughters to WDW we stayed in the CR tower, TPV and we all LOVED it. This year I am taking my 2 grand sons to WDW for their first time as well, and we have chosen to stay in BLT. So, if my choices are anything to go by, I guess that the CR is my vote! Although it really depends upon what you are looking for in your hotel. All three are great but give very different experiences.

Good luck choosing!

BLT is awesome and is, perhaps, an option OP should look into (renting DVC points.)

If you can swing it- for the age of your daughter- TPV room in CR. Easy walk to MK and on the days we were not at MK, it was wonderful to come back to the room and watch fireworks. I remember one evening being on the balcony with my DH watching while the kids slept.

All three are great choices. Focus on you and your families personal likes and where you can get the best deal.

Look at pics and check out touringplans or allears for more information and pick one that you think you both would like (yes I like having my DDs opinions). For our family it would be this order.
GF
CR

POLY

My choice would be the Poly, followed by the GF. The Poly is my favorite as the tropical atmosphere is relaxing, the pool is great as it backs up to the beach with a distant view of the castle (you can watch fireworks while swimming), and it's just 2 monorail stops from MK and a quick 5-7 minute walk to the TTC to catch the Epcot monorail. With that said, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the three, it just depends on which theme/decor/atmosphere you like the most. Good luck! :)

Thank all of you. We are going to do Wilderness lodge and free dining

That would have been my choice. I love that resort. It offers a great location (quick boat ride to MK). Lots of food choices. The pool is great for adults and children too. All in all the theming and the vibe of WL keep bringing us back.

we've stayed at CR and Poly and while the walk to/from MK to CR is a great convenience, I feel like I'm on vacation when at the Poly. Just the theming, tropical feel and even CMs that work there are just incredible in every way.

Tough decision and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them, but my family really loves Poly -there is just a certain feel about the resort. You do feel like you are on a vacation somewhere tropical, whereas CR can have just another hotel feel.

At the Poly the lava pool is nicely themed with the slide. You have trader Sam's, which you can bring her to between 4-8pm. You are only a short monorail ride to MK. The grounds are beautiful to walk around. It is a pretty easy walk to Epcot monorail. Good restaurants - with the QS and Kona -- Ohana gets mixed reviews these days.

You might want to look at some video tours of each resort -- ones of the grounds and ones of the rooms. I know tim tracker has done pretty in depth grounds tour of each one. There are plenty of people who have done room tours. Each one has something different to offer. If it were me i would decide between Poly and CR - simply because they are the original ones that started it all.
