Bear in mind that at the Polynesian a large percentage of the rooms on the 2nd floor do not have a balcony. Tikiman's site explains this. I would say, ask for what you want... Do you want to look at the marina, pool, open area. Smoking or Non? Make your requests along thouse lines. Requesting a specific floor in a specific building with a specific view is setting you up for a disapointment if you don't get what you are expecting.

Even I have never requested any building or floor. I have always gone and gotten what ever I get. I have never needed to know so much about the Polynesian till I had to start answering questions for others on my web page. I know everyone wants to do what they can to get the best room but there are so many good rooms at the Polynesian and sometimes not knowing what to expect is the best part. If I get a room I have been in before than it is great but no surprise. Every time I have gotten something different it is always fun to throw open the curtains and see the new view.

Steve, that's us too for this trip. First time at Polynesian and a dream come true for my dd. All we are asking for are a balcony and non-smoking (for health reasons..dd is asthmatic). Let the magic flow over us, sprinkling pixie-dust everywhere!!!
