Hi all
It's been sometime since I've posted on here... Not sure if anyone remembers me but I was a frequent visitor to dlp until a few events took over and couldn't get any trips in. Ie I was booked to go last September but fell pregnant and had medical problems doctors wouldn't let me travel as I would have been 33 weeks by then But kids still went with their grandparents and had a fab time.
This trip will have quite a few firsts for us here is a list
-We are staying at the Newport Bay hotel as we are a family of 2 adults 3 kids and 1 infant and this was the best room we could get.
- we couldn't get standard seats on Eurostar so we are going standard premium (not much difference in price)
- First time going school holidays (February)
-DH has never been to dlp only Florida (so I'm expecting him to compare everything)
- I know this sounds sad as I'm 34 but first time going without my mum (she is just as big on dlp as I am)
- First time going with my step daughter and obviously our new born son

As the title says I can't talk about it, well we have decided to keep it hush as we are going to surprise the kids with it on Christmas morning, how I am going to keep my mouth shut I will never know, but going to give it a go. I can't talk about it on Facebook as can't run the risk of someone telling the kids.

Sorry it was an essay but wanted to shout about it in excitement and had no where to go!! Lol

Hi there  Congratulations on your lovely son :cloud9:

What a fab surprise for your family on Christmas Day, good luck with keeping it secret - you'll just have to keep coming on here to have a shout every now and again! :goodvibes

welcome back to the new family trip planning for DLP!
And the very best of luck in keeping it a secret for 8 months - no way I could, I doubt I could manage to keep my mouth zipped for 8 days!!!

Yeay! Congratulations on your new booking! Recently went with our 7 month old, so I'm sure you're experienced to know all the ins and outs of going with a younger one, and your lovely newbie will be older by the time you go, but give me a shout if you want anything clarified! May be able to help!

Thanks everyone.
Bless you for the offer of the info, I probably will pick your brains at some point as I remember bits from when I took my DD and DS when they were smaller they are 9 and 6 now plus I have baby brain still so I have no hope lol.
When we go DS2 will be 1 year and 4 months, he is also dairy intolerant so I would probably need some advice from people for him.
I had to tell the kids a little porky, they heard us talking about Disney and booking the other day (note to self switch baby monitor off when doing secret talks lol) They asked us today have we booked we said no the Eurostar is full (felt awful but can't wait to see their faces Christmas morning)
Sooo excited can't wait!!

Congrats on your booking - and your new baby! Happy planning :goodvibes

Thanks everyone. :)
I do love the fact that i can come on here and no one minds me getting over excited and talking about it. You all understand how i feel. :yay:

Hi Kazza

I remember you - it's been all go for you! Congrats!

We used to do reveals for our trips but our kids are just too good and seem to know now. So now we tend to tell them which in a way is quite nice too as they like to plan things and get excited talking about it! We went to Florida for 3 weeks last summer and I booked it about 18 months in advance so we had lots of time to talk about it all - it was really exciting getting them involved in the planning - although I did keep some things secret like some special restaurants, character meets and of course, Bibbity Bobbity Boutique!

We've been taking our children to DLRP since they were small. I think there was only one visit where we struggled a bit with DD2, but on the whole we've managed really well. My DD1 is dairy intolerant so it was fun and games in the early days. She has just turned 11 and is gradually outgrowing it - can now eat cheese etc, but still can't drink or have raw cow's milk or soya milk! Have to say, DLRP isn't great for food intolerances in general but if your DS is still little it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I used to take out fruit pots and the likes in our case (I was also breastfeeding and was dairy free myself as a result!), I wrapped tubs up in tupperware dishes taped up in case of leakage! We always managed. I found a lot of canned/jarred baby food included dairy or milk protein so that could be tricky - obviously at home I just made everything myself so it wasn't an issue then. I found it was harder once she got older and was on 'normal' food!

How exciting! I am in the same boat as I booked a couple of months ago for September 2016 and haven't told the kids yet. We will tell them well before the time (possibly in July when we jet off to New York without them - and we booked Hotel New York for an extra little consolation, and the fact that it is such a short walk) as I think part of the fun of a trip is looking forward to it, but couldn't cope with months and months of that! I also can't tell any of my friends as we are all together with the kids all the time and it would be bound to come out. Luckily I can talk about it at work though and spending a lot of time on here to get me in the mood.

Thanks DLPDreams and HappySlinky,
It is nice when I can come on here and get excited with others who share my enthusiasm.
I am a little worried about what I can feed DS when we are there but I have nearly 10 months to try and work out what he can and can't tolerate.
I've been making his meals myself so I know what's in them. As I am going on the Eurostar I will probably take some bits with me just incase.

I'm trying to think of ways to tell kids at Christmas I was thinking of a treasure hunt with clues along the way but kids will be 12,10 and 7 then so they will probably work it out by the first clue lol.
