YEEE HAAA! I was finally able to run today for the first time since my knee operation. It has been 4 long weeks. Can't tell you how good it felt to put on the Ipod, start up the Garmin and get out there on the roads. OK, I only ran a little less than 4 miles since I didn't want to push it but it felt good. It as only 75 degrees this morning but it was already 95% humidity at 8:00 a.m. Summer is here.

Other than the heat it didn't feel too bad out there today. Thought I'd feel worse after not running for 4 weeks but, I have still been exercising and walking at a fairly fast rate.

I'm back on track ready to start training for the January Marathon!

enjoy,
Duane

Welcome back to the running world:) I have been there before and it is tough when something you love is taken away and than given back. Enjoy it!

I completely understand your joy. Glad to hear you are on the mend and ready to fly again.

Duane

Welcome back to the game. I don't know if you are experiencing any swelling or soreness after your runs, but if you are be sure to apply lots of ice to the hot spots. After my scope I had more that a bit of this so my freezer was filled with 5 ounce dixie cups filled with ice and after exercise I would rub the ice all over the points until the ice melted off. This put the fire out.

Best of luck in your rehab.

Craig

Congrats Duane!!!! So glad to hear all went well and the run smooth :cool1:

Pixie Dust thoughts for you as you increase your miles and the training goes forward :goodvibes

Duane, Great news! I am so happy to hear that you are back and your running went well. I know you will be careful, but the "Mom" in me has to say be careful.

It is really a happy thing to hear for sure!

Duane: It must feel great to be back on the roads. I'm only a few weeks back after 13(!) weeks off following knee surgery. Stay healthy.

Thanks everyone.

Taking it easy, just did 3 miles inside tonight. Too humid to go out and when I go out I am tempted to go too far. So far, no swelling or pain. But, I keep bags of frozen peas handy just in case.

Thanks again for the encouragement.
Duane
