Finally! Anyone else get frustrated with early booking?

:guilty: Try living in Oregon where the school budgets are so in limbo that they STILL haven't given us a schedule, nor will they until last minute! They are even in the process of giving us back more mondays and fridays which they cancel frequently (10 times a year or so) for "teacher In-service days" and the like....and instead letting kids out 2 hours early every Wednesday or start 2 hours late (High School). This broken budget of ours is the ONLY thing I don't like about living in Oregon.....it probably is centered around the fact that WE DON"T HAVE ANY SALES TAX IN OREGON....thus, less funding for the schools. pirate:

BUT I LOVE PURCHASING GROCERIES, CARS, CLOTHES, ETC. without a sales tax! It really adds up! :rolleyes1

Our school schedule for 2005-2006 has been out since February. But, now it's revised with fine print on the bottom - "subject to revision pending legislation" Seems our Texas elected officials want school to start after Labor Day which would push back our end of school until June - normally not a problem - BUT, we're booked on the 5/27/06 cruise which is the day after school is CURRENTLY scheduled to end. Who knows when school will finish if the bill passes...

I was told by the teachers at our school in Dallas area, Lewisville isd to be exact, that if the bill is approved they would still end in May. They are going to only have 2 days at thanksgiving, no fair day in October,
only 7 days off at Christmas and 3 for Spring break, this is all to make up for the late start/early release end of May.

UGH!!! :sad2:
