Finally a restaurant in Disney that has bread* !!!

No such thing as social distancing at DL. Went out the window several months ago.

If Disney is doing any kind of social distancing these days, they forgot to tell the CMs for the HM and RotR!! Packed us in those little spaces like sardines!

I think the issue comes with union agreements for the workers. There is a limit on how many can be in the laundry room, for instance, and probably kitchens.

Are those still in place? I know Cal OSHA had a rule that was supposed to go to sometime in October, but I don't know if it was extended.

Honestly, I have no idea. It does add an element of "Hmmmmm" if those restrictions are gone and there's still no bread. But, better for your new bread basket start-up :D

Refresh my memory.. chef tables for NP drops first of the month? They gave me a card for the number to call to reserve but I can’t remember when the reservations drop?
I believe they book two months out, so Oct 1st all of October and November would have been up for grabs, I THINK.

They only are doing a single seating now and only F-Sun. It’s bumped to seven courses though. I think they have six per section, apps/prep, center, and dessert. So that would be 18/night or 54/week. Even if there are 8 per section that doesn’t make it much more per week they can do. They still book up extremely fast. On the plus side, way more flexible changing times. I originally booked 7pm tonight but forgot about fireworks so easily visited the host stand after 5:30 (when they open) and adjusted it to 5:30pm tonight… looking forward to it!

It's too bad that the old space occupied by the Void has been leased out because it would have been a great place to sell my bread out of. I could have just added the words "bread basket" in between The and Void. People could have stopped there before their sit down dinners.

They could have just re-theme it as VR bread…

Napa Rose Chefs Counter right now, confirmed no bread service!

I asked about it and the explanation I got was that the kitchen staff was only at ~70% right now because of distancing ($? 🙃)

They did also mention that restaurant capacity was still only about 80% though…

Can you ask them about the legalities of my bread basket side hustle?

Tired of Disney and other places using the excuse of the virus. Disney CM’s can tell you to take up every available space in line and pack the rides but they can’t bring back other areas such as housekeeping and trams. I call pure BS. They either can’t get help or they’re trying to save on labor costs. Maybe a combination of the two.
“Because of the virus” can mean lots of things, not just potential exposure. For example, the virus has impacted supply chains, which in turn may have impacted Disney’s ability to get items necessary to get the trams up and running.

And each of us can draw our own conclusions from our own experiences and I’m calling ********. I still think Disney is having issues with hiring which means that they need to step it up and pay what’s needed to hire the help needed to run their parks.

My server at the Chefs Counter specifically mentioned OSHA and labor requirement issues as resulting in a physical limitation of how many could be in the kitchen and back of house. That said, it is a very “Disney” answer and it could just be staff aren’t returning or sticking with Disney.

They did seem to be working a little faster yet seemed less chaotic in the kitchen… if someone told me two or three people were missing I probably would have believed it.
