Roundtrip SW air from BWI for 4 - $420 (with Dings $39 and $54)
Alamo Minivan rental for 12 days - $292

Total Transportation costs - $712


I only have 16 days left before my trip on June 9. I don't think I can get any better. What do you think??? Did I do good????

Well, you could try splitting your minivan rental into two one-"week" transactions (IF that's not what you did already )
Rental companies consider a week rental to be between five and seven 24-hour periods. Just for the heck of it, try pricing consecutive six-day rentals two ways: One picking up at MCO, returning to/picking up from the Car Care Center or the Dolphin/returning to MCO; and the other - less convenient but maybe cheaper - picking up at MCO, returning to/picking up at MCO, returning to MCO.

I am looking for flights out of BWI as well. What days of the week are your flights? Did you wait for the dings, or book and get a credit? Just curious because it sounds like you got a great deal. I am going in October so our flights have not even opened up yet.

You did really good on your airfare!!!! I would try finding a coupon or something for alamo.

My base week for my rental car is $159. I haven't been able to find a base week lower than that. If I split it up into two weeks then it would be $318 plus fees and taxes. Soooo....I think $292 total is a good deal for 12 days.

jesters - I took the best deals I could find which was $79 one way back in March, as the dings came up I took the credit. The first leg for $39 I got back in February/March when the dates opened up till June 9.

The second for $54 I got just the other day. I think the second leg on June 20 opened up in March/April??? We are planning to fly down in Feb. 2007 and I have over $200 in credit now. So I am pleased with the overall results. Good Luck on getting your fares!!!!!

I did make sure that my last leg on my trip was on a Tuesday as it seems most Dings are good for Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I hope this helps.
