Hi all! We just made our final payment for Viva Italia. Who else but Disney would make such an expensive transaction so very pleasurable!
However, I do still have pangs of "Buyer's Remorse". What with tuition payments, major appliance malfunctions, and the general state of the economy I keep wondering what the heck we are thinking! Then, I have but to look at the brochures and guide books and I know the experience will be invaluable! How is everyone else dealing with their own cognitive dissonance?

Cindy,
I'm with you, yet I can't even get myself to make the $300 reservation deposit and that I still have a few days to back out on. We've delayed our 25th anniversary trip for one year because of these anxieties. I've just got to do it. I need the cheer leaders :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congratulations.... The trip is getting closer! Pretty soon you will be getting a surprise package in the mail! Have fun? You will love Italy.

You won't regret it... Which tour are you going on?

We are going to Ireland July 17. It will be a 25th Anniversary celebration  . I was born there but grew up in CA. Have tons of family there but have never done any REAL sight seeing. This will be very special and then we will do the family thing the week after.

Sounds special... Some day, I would love to visit Ireland. My great grandmother and grandfather were Irish, so it would be nice to explore my roots.

Cdylei, I understand your concerns. I didn't think that my husband and I would be able to pull off our trip to Orlando last September/October, and now we are planning another trip to Disney World. Am I sorry we went? No. We learned things that will make the next trip better so we have to go again.

I don't want to get too morbid here and bring everybody down, but none of us are getting out of this life alive Cydlei. You will have bills when you die. We all do. You don't want to realize that it is time to die and be left feeling like you haven't lived yet. These memories of a trip to Italy will be more valuable to your family in the end. If I were given a choice between fighting a fatal disease or taking my last days and the last of my money on a vacation, I would take the vacation.

As long as the trip won't leave you homeless, go have a wonderful time in Italy.

I think if we all waited until we could "afford it", we'd never go. I'm glad my husband said 2009 will be the year for Italy! There is never enough in savings, never enough in the retirement fund, always credit card payments and tuition... My daughter will be 13 then, and sometimes I think we waited too long already. Go and have fun, and remind me of all this next year when I make my reservation.

Whew! I just made my final payment for Spirit of America. DS11 is studying American History this and we just can't wait. On the other hand I'm experiencing some of the same feelings as the OP. I remembered this thread and just wanted to chime in and commisserate! Can't wait until June.:goodvibes

Hi Texa! You'll have a wonderful time on this tour! We live in Northern Virginia, so you'll be in our "backyard". You'll especially like Williamsburg! We have felt so blessed to be able to supplement our kid's history education with frequent visits to nearby battlefields, Jamestown, DC, et. al. What time of year will you be here?

We will be there the end of June. June 20th is the first date of our tour. I can't wait. It feels official now.:woohoo:
