What happens if you do not pay the balance on your trip when it is due? Still waiting on tax return.

They'll cancel your reservation 30 days out (so you do have a grace period).

Call them beforehand and explain to them. I've noticed now when I log onto the Disney website I have a little reminder at the top of my page that my package final payment is due April 21.

They give you 6mos interest free on a Disney trip.

Call them and let them know you will be unable to make the payment at that time. They will give you a grace period. While it seems to be true you have until 30 days, I would personally never expect that to automatically happen. I would always feel better talking to someone about it so that it will be noted on your reservation.

There was an error in my final payment, I received a "late notice" which specifically stated that my reservation would be canceled at 30 days out. This was for a trip in January 2011.

I second (or third) the suggest to call them. They could possibly cancel it sooner than 30 days. Don't assume that it will be there. Call them and let them know that you will be delayed in making your final payment so they can notate your account.

I did not make final payment until 2 weeks out a couple of years ago. I called them to let them know I was waiting on my sister's paycheck on the
15th and then would pay the balance. They said "no problem." I think we owed $250.
