Final decision..BLT or AKV??

My opinion is that the BLT would be the better buy if your not looking to reserve either the AKV Value or Concierge.

If you go to WDW and don't have a car, the option of getting on a Monorail and visit other resort restaurants is great. At AKV you much less selections and must ride a bus to get (sometimes more than 1 leg, for example to eat at Poly would need to take bus to MK then ride Monorail to get to Poly) the restaurant

What sold me on BLT (other than not liking the AKV decor and the obvious location to MK) was the 1 bedroom units have TWO bathrooms! How freaking cool is that! lol

I just bought in AKV and I did it mainly because the current price and incentives allowed me to buy more points. It's true that the maintenance fee is higher but hey! I'm getting more points and I just want to stay in BLT for a couple of nights (too many points and I don't want my family to get tired of MK fireworks every single night). I don't think I will have mayor problems booking at 7 month window in BLT for a couple of nights only, besides I'm not a big fan of the contemporary resort neither because I don't like the "cold" design, I'm more into the "family" look, that's why I love OKW too. In addition the AKV price will rise to $112 now in January 15 and I don't think there are a lot of resorts in the world that may give you a Savannah view option and that gives value to a resort.:thumbsup2

If AKL and BLT are only choices:

Consider AKL resale great prices right now check the sponsor resales out, sure you could offer $85 for a loaded contract and get some takers.
85 versus 112? I think it is a no brainer, you will be able to book BLT in the future..I mean BCV is available a lot of times at 7 months and I would be the demand (room versus people wanting in at 7 months) is just as high as BLT will be in a few years.

Noticed that you want to use this for upcoming reservation:

You would be in the system to make reservations in 2 months, the savings in $ 13 per point versus direct from DVC (assuming you can negotiate not to pay closing costs) could be put toward renting a DVC unit.

I'm in the middle of an AKV resale purchase right now for 160 pts at $85 and saving thousands over buying direct from Disney. It just made more financial sense for our family. Plus all '08 points were still availalbe (and MF paid obviously), so I looked at it as basically getting DP only I can use them at AKV instead of having to go to SSR. There are definitely some great deals to be had out on the resale market.

Tried to call our guide today to book, he is off until January 15th!!!! I spoke to him on Sunday and he said today would be fine!!
