Final Choices - Hopefully??

Below is where I plan to dine on my upcoming solo trip. Most of these places either I have never been to before or have not been in a VERY long time. What do you think?

Boma for Breakfast - Never been

Kona for Breakfast - Have not been in a long time.

Cape May Cafe for Breakfast - Never been

Crystal Palace for Breakfast - MUST DINE FOR ME!!

Tusker House for Lunch - Have not been since the renovation

Chef Mickey's for Breakfast - Have not been in a long time.

Plaza Restaurant for Lunch - Went in 2006

Cape May Cafe for Dinner - Never been

Liberty Tree Tavern for Lunch - Have not been in a long time

Akershus for Breakfast - Never been

Crystal Palace for Dinner - MUST DINE FOR ME!!

Chef's de France for Lunch - Never been

50's Primetime for Lunch - MUST DINE FOR ME!!

Cindy's for Breakfast - Never been

Le Cellier for Lunch - MUST DINE FOR ME!!

Rose & Crown for Dinner - I really like it here.

Teppan Edo for Lunch - Never been

Hoop-Dee-Doo Review for Dinner - Have not been in a really long time.

Yachtsman Steakhouse for Dinner - Have not been in a long time

Flying Fish for Dinner - Never been

California Grill - Have not been in a long time.

So what do you think of my dining plans? Any you would change?

I personally like lunch at CRT, but there are a lot of breakfast fans.

Are you going to try for the kitchen counter seats at Flying Fish? It's something that I have done at a few places but not FF. I find it really interesting. My wife just tolerates me.

I've never been to Flying Fish before. What is the kitchen counter seats?

weliked FF better than BD. the service at FF was excellent, we just thought the food was ok maybe we ordered teh wrong thing! lol
my other favorite signiture place is Citricos!

maybe ten seats that overlook the kitchen. I haven't eaten at these seats at FF but have at a few others. The first time was at Alan Wong's in Waikiki. I had talked to a gentleman on one of out flights between islands and he described their tomato soup. It was served in a glass with half yellow and half green tomato soup. I was able to see how they put the dish together and was sold on counter dining. Generally there is some discussion with the staff and occasionally there are samples passed over the counter.

At FF I like the potato wrapped snapper.

Arguably both, but I can only speak to breakfast as that is the only meal I have had there. I will start with the positives- our server was excellent and they have fun characters. The negative- the food is all but inedible. The eggs tasted like instant eggs, the bacon was rubbery, most of the hot food was luke warm or room temperature, the fruit wasn't even fresh and there are not really any unique choices here, which leads me to believe that they should be able to handle basics correctly. I haven't done dinner here partly because the breakfast was so bad, partly because others have warned me, and partly because I can't imagine them pulling off a new england clam bake to my standards (being from new england!).

hope that helps. I am always one for telling people to go for their own experience - maybe i hit it on a bad day or at a bad time of day.
