I know I have seen this on these boards before but for the life of me I cant find where :confused3 . Someone made a tip about takeing water bottels with filters already in them and I think they were from Brita. I would like to know where you can get these kind of water bottels. I have looked at the Brita sight and Googled but found nothing. :badpc: Please Help!

They were from Brita called 'Fill and go'.... came out a few years ago, not a big hit... They have been discontinued. Pur has a nalgene adaptor... don't know much about it, but not cheep. There is another product Extream water filter... very expensive.

Might want to look into this catalog... http://www.campmor.com

good luck

I bought our Britta Fill & Gos off of ebay. There were quite a few being sold.

I bought the Fill n Go a year and a half ago but I still see the refill filters at Brooks Pharmacy and Walgreens. I love it for the convenience, especially in disney, but the top leaks sometimes making a soggy backpack! :guilty:

Brita is discontinued...only available on Ebay now unless you luck out somewhere that has them on clearence.

I bought stuff HERE before my August trip in 2004.

They have the filter bottle and they also have a top that can fit most water bottles like Poland Springs etc...It works great.

I've been using Pristine Microbiological Filter Water Bottle (Canadian made) - removes at least 99.9% of cryptosporidium and giardia lamblia  - and it works very well. Another good bottle is the Katadyn Micro Microfilter Bottle (Swiss made).

You can google the manufacturers or check out MEC"dot"ca and search water bottles. :drinking:

All of the CVS pharmacies in Dallas carry both the bottles and the filters. The bottles are $7.99, the filters are $7.99 for a package of 2. I keep waiting for them to put them on clearance, or on sale, or something, but they have been $7.99 since before we went to WDW last October. Good luck finding some! :)

I bought our Brita water bottle at WalMart 2 years ago on first WDW trip, but I saw them just a couple of weeks ago at WalMart. I paid around $7.99-$8.99.

Just FYI: Britas will leak for one of two reasons: 1) the pull-spout isn't snapped down all the way (very easy to do, check to make sure you can't get your fingernail into the groove below it), or 2) You have accidentally switched the original pull-spout with one off of regular bottled water, as there are several brands that have royal-blue tops. The problem is that these do not have a seal that will close off the filter opening properly.

I found out that DH was accidentally switching the pull-spouts about 50% of the time, so I got a knife and scored a ring around the middle of the real Brita spouts. If it doesn't have the ring, I know immediately that it's the wrong spout.

I bypass the whole water bottle thing and just ask any CS restaurant for a large cup of ice water. They will give it to you even if you're not buying food. I hate the big clunky water bottle strap thing, and don't want to lug around a heavy bottle in a backpack.

This wouldn't work as well if you're going during a really busy time of year (due to the lines at CS restaurants), but it worked great for me in October!

We used the free ice water also, but we didn't like the taste of Florida water. We would get free water and then pour it into the Brita bottle. I also took powdered crystal light and gatorade and mixed with the water to make it taste better. Our trip was in June 2004, we had 7 people in our party and we never waited at a CS restaurant more than 5-10 minutes for water. :)

Thanks for all the great info. I will check our CVS pharmacy for the bottles because our wal-mart I know doesnt have them.
I dont know why I didnt think of the crystal lite drink mixes  i guess thats why im here.
