my new wife and i will be leaving on friday for 10 days at disney and we didn't get out filtered water bottle ordered in time. we found one at a local store but we really don't want to pay $50+ for it, so that's out. can anyone recommend a good alternative? i have heard that orlando water doesn't taste too well. we could buy bottled water, but we are trying to avoid that if possible.

If you want water, I would say you would probably just have to break down and buy bottled water. However, what DF and I plan to do on our honeymoon is use the individual servings of crystal lite or other flavored drink mixes in the Disney water. I found that tip on one of the other boards to camouflage the bad taste of disney water and save $4 on soda.

Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I have bad kidneys so I have to drink lots of water. Plain water is best so I don't want to do the crystal light thing.

We're thinking about ordering some online and having it delivered. But all the grocery delivery sites have minimum amounts you have to buy and I just don't think I will be able to find $40 worth of things to buy.

Original poster...I've never heard of a filtered water bottle before. Do they actually make the water taste decent?? Where can I get one??

Here's one of my best tips. Bring just one water bottle per person - then refill it with cups of ice water from CS restaurants. You can get them for free (you don't even have to buy any other food or beverages - just walk on up and ask for ice water!).

The water is cold, it tastes good, and you don't have to buy expensive water (or lug around multiple bottles per person, if you buy it in bulk).

I believe I read on the boards that you could order water from Staples and have it delivered. Also, if you have a membership at Costco, you could order water and I think shipping is free.

There's something called ************, and it has a refillable 16 oz water bottle with a filter at the top. The website is ************.com, but I haven't tried it. Anyone who has, I'd love to hear how it tastes and works...

okay, I guess I violated a rule. But I'd like to hear about the pure water 2 go bottles, if anyone can report...

I don't have their bottle but I bought just their filters for standard water or soda bottles. Seems to work pretty well so far.

I used to have a Brita water bottle that had a filter inside. It wasn't no where near $50, but I don't know if they still have them now. This is a great thread, it got me thinking.

The water at EPCOT, AK, and MGM all tasted fine to me. The water at the older fountains at MK tasted a little off, but the newer fountains and at all CS restaurants the water was just fine. I drink tap water at home and hate to pay for bottled water. On really hot days in the parks I'll bring my own bottle and fill it at fountains and with ice water from restaurants.

You can get free cups of ice water by walking up to any CS restaurant. You don't even have to buy anything - just ask for ice water. It tastes fine - it's not the "icky" Florida water.

If you want to carry a bottle around with you, just bring one bottle per person, then refill with ice water as needed. Saves money, and you get cold water!

My vote is for the Brita fill and go bottle too. They are wonderful! You probably can get them from Ebay.
