Films for Christmas

This year we've watched:
White Christmas
Four Christmases
Shop Around the Corner (not Christmasy but wintery.)
It's a Wonderful Life

There are some we used to watch every year but I got kind of burnt out of them:
A Christmas Story
Love Actually
Just Friends

We'll probably watch Christmas Vacation tomorrow night. But that might be it for this year.

Hmmm. Didnt think about it for this year. Kinda got a lot going on. But I suppose I will do the old classics like Charlie Brown and Frosty The Snowman.

DIE HARD ISN'T A

CHRISTMAS MOVIE. HE SNEAKS AROUND A TOWER AT NIGHT

AVOIDING ALAN RICKMAN. IT'S A HARRY POTTER MOVIE.

Use to like original Bishops wife

one of my favorites-sitting on my DVR to watch right now.

I recently read this argument which supports my position on the matter-

'Die Hard is a movie about a cynical workaholic who goes back to his estranged wife on Christmas Eve in an attempt to reconcile with her. It's not just a Christmas movie it's a Hallmark Christmas movie.'.

I feel like it's a good time of year to revisit Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Maybe we'll do that sometime around the holidays.

Well if you thought Yellowstone was a serene place to visit.... Costner has his view of Bethlehem

I watch as many different versions of A Christmas Carol as I can (favorites are 1984 version for straight drama and the 1970 musical Scrooge). I watch all the tv specials from the 60s and early 70s (Charlie Brown, Grinch, Rudolph, etc.) and Christmas episodes of regular tv shows. There are a few Hallmark movies I watch each year, ones that don’t stick to the typical formulaic Hallmark plot. Never watched Love Actually or Die Hard, or Christmas Vacation though.

I like George c Scott and 60s Magoo Carol

British TV.. The Snowman... love the soundtrack...long forgotten...juggler of Notre Dame and Henry Winkler Christmas Carol

We have to watch The Snowman and The Snowman and the Snow Dog at Christmas… beautiful artwork, sumptuous score… probably the most Christmassy thing on the airwaves.

Aside from the typical movies, I love
The Christmas Candle.

Honestly, it's the Christmas movie I always looked for. Quaint, picturesque, set in english village, love story, gorgeous sound track, drama, familiar cast, beautiful story.
So many people have never seen it. It came to the theater first and it's truly a great Christmas film.

Wow everyone, I am so far behind!

Jim Carrey's The Grinch
and the original cartoon Grinch of my youth

Next up will be Holiday INN with Bing Crosby and hopefully I can stream Miracle on 34th street ( the original) soon too.

The only one that matters. Muppet Christmas Carol. Oh and Red One which is actually pretty cute

Aside from dozens of Hallmark Christmas focused movies I’ve watch Frosty the Snowman and Shrek the Halls.

So far this season, we've watched the following:
Home Alone;
Home Alone 2;
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation;
Miracle on 34th Street (the one from the 1990s);
It's A Wonderful Life;
Mickey
The Santa Clause;
A Christmas in Tennessee (and other sappy Hallmark/Romance Christmas ones I can't remember, lol)
