Hi

I was just wondering where you can and can't use your camcorder. I know you can't use them on indoor rides and stuff but what about shows such as Festival of the Lion King, stunt shows etc. Also can you use them on rides like Jaws?

Each individual attraction, has their own rules on camcorders and flash photography. We used our camcorder for the motor show at disney, and the parades.

Hope this helps!

You CAN film on many of the rides, they will say if it's not allowed. But usually not in any of the shows.

I used my camcorder to film the Festival of the Lion King last year, they usually tell you if you can film one of the shows just before it is about to start not sure about jaws.

Last time I went, you werent allowed to film Jaws. Most of the other rides are ok though.. although I wouldnt recommend filming whilst riding Kraken or any of the other rollers :rotfl:

I got some funny footage on splash mountain though.. :jumping1:

There's a video somewhere on the net of RNRC. I wouldn't fancy being the person whol filmed that one!

As far as I'm aware you're not allowed to film on any of the coasters for safety reasons - if you were to drop your camera you could cause some serious damage to other riders..!

We filmed the shows and parades without any problems - Beauty & The Beast, Indiana Jones, Fantasmic, Tarzan Rocks, Festival of the Lion King, Sinbad, Shamu, Motor Car Parade.

No filming allowed on Jaws or most of the rides as far as I recall - but I agree that it certainly wouldn't be wise on Kraken, Hulk, DD, RnRC, Montu, Sheikr....and so on.

Thanks everyone.

I didn't think the shows and parades would be a problem, but I thought maybe I could film things like Jaws I mean its not a coaster but...

Garry, I notice you're from East Lothian - me too! :D

Hi There
Ooops!!!

Dont know if I done the wrong thing then, but I have been on Jaws twice and filmed it, never been told not to.

Sue

Hi Sue

I guess if you weren't told off for filming then it must've been OK.

The reason I was asking about filming is that I don't want to carry the camcorder around with me and thought that if I knew in advance where I could film then I could do all those shows and stuff together.

on our last trip we video taped many rides and several shows including The Lion King show and Fantasmic (which actually turned out incredibly). We regret not taking more footage through out the trip other than rides, parades and shows.

Here is a website we found called Video Taping Walt Disney World Hints

It has given us a few ideas we intend to use on our honeymoon in Oct :goodvibes

Hope this helps you some. Have a magical trip :wizard:

We have just been and it does say no filming/photos on the Jaws ride. Most rides tell you what you are allowed to do as you go in.

Thanks wicket2005 - I guess I'll just have to carry my camcorder around with me (which I didn't want to do) and film what I can as I go.

Cplofdisneynutz - thanks for the link. I've checked it out and its given me some tips too, stuff I wouldn't have even thought about! Also, congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful wedding and honeymoon (although you can't go wrong with disney :D). I hope you'll tell us all about it when you get back!
