Film safety?

How do I assure that the film I am bringing and the pics I take will not get ruined in the airport screening? I am a point and shoot kinda pic taker...

Do not pack it in checked luggage. Do it as a carry on.
800 speed and below will be ok. If you have any worries, have them hand check it.

Traveling to and from Europe this summer, my film had to be scanned numerous times, though twice in the US, I was able to get it hand checked. I know every single roll was scanned twice and some were scanned 3-5 times by the time I left Paris. Nonetheless, all of my pics were great. My film was all 400 speed and 200 speed.

This is what I do:

1. If possible I wait till I get to my destination before buying the bulk of my film. Theres usually a targe` or wallyworld close by to where I usually go.
Now if I'm going somewhere where it'll be kind of difficult to buy film at reasonable prices I will buy what I need before hand and do the following with it to make it easier to be hand checked:
Take all of the film rolls out of their plastic containers but dont throw them away keep them to protect your film during the trip.
I then take the film canisters and put them in large see thru plastic sandwich bag like a ziplock bag. Then when I go through screening I make sure I have the bag already out and just give the whole bag to screener and ask" Sir or Miss could you please hand check this for me?"
Giving them a single bag is easier to hand check than handing them several rolls of film.

2. This another option I've done. If I think I have some really awesome (as in sellable awesome) pictures I will find a local place at my destination and have them process the film. That way the negatives will already be processed.
