Filling Text With A Picture On Paint Shop Pro Help!!!

which version are you using? That might be the reason we can't find it.

I'm using Version X (10). I just checked version 9 and it wasn't there, so it must have been introduced on version 10.

I have a problem with the "move" tool on version 10 because I can never tell which layer(s) it will move. The select tool allows you to select a specific layer and it even puts a selection box around it so you can tell what you are going to move.

yeah, see I have version 8! LOL I tried version 9 & 10 & I guess I just like what I've gotten used to. LOL W/the move tool in version 10, doesn't it highlight the layer when you click on it to let you know which layer is moving? That's how I know in 8.

I think the move tool works fine with a single level of layers. Most of my designs have multiple levels with layer groups and masks. This seems to cause the move tool to be unpredictable.

I tested the steps in version 9 and added an alternate step 13 that uses "deform" instead of "Pick"

13a) Prior to version X there was no "Pick" tool. For version 9 (and maybe earlier) you can use the "Raster Deform" Tool instead. This tool is just as easy to use for moving the picture, but not quite as easy to use for resizing. Your best bet is to use Scale X & Y percentage fields on the tool options bar. Make sure to set them to the same percentage so the proportions remain constant.

I believe that is the reason. I am using 9. I have tried the later versions, but none of the enhanced features seem to justify the cost. Again, thanks for the help.

Ok I just downloaded jasc paint shop pro 8. I am getting soooooooo frustrated with trying to learn how to design. following the instruction in post 14 I did get the name with the picture in it. it was not a clear picture so of coarse I was not happy with it but I am just learning so it will get better. I would also like to learn how to do the other stuff you all do. I tried adding 2 pictures but did not even get close to what I was looking for. Oh well of to practice some more to try and figure things out. If any of you want to offer instructions please do so.

what kind of graphics are you using? For the names, you really need to use some kind of desktop wallpaper or create a graphic yourself. I'm not sure why it would be blurry, because you're not altering the picture at all, so I'm just trying to understand how you're doing it.

I was just messing and was using a picture that was small in pixal size. Since I moved up to a larger picture I have not been able to do it again.
I am following your instructions but for some reason my text is white not the same as the picture. I may have to give up and just request whatever it is I want.

Ok I think I have mastered getting the picture in the letters. I now have to figure out how to outline them but I will find the thread that offers the instructions for that also. Thanks to everyone who is willing to help those of us who are just learning. This stuff is truly addicting.
