Hi All, so here is the situation. My wife and I have a last minute opportunity to travel to WDW in just three weeks! We are super planners and visit WDW yearly, but with our experience I think we can pull off a great vacation last minute. However, we usually rent points to save money which typically beats any Disney promotion and this is where I need some help. The only resort with an availiable studio for the entire length of our stay is Saratoga which we are not the biggest fans of do to the massive layout. So, AKV has some spotty nights available during our stay but no consective nights. Would it be possiable for me to book the available DVC nights and pay cash to fill in the holes assuming the room view was the same? Would this cause an absolute nightmare? I would have to book 3 nights on cash through Disney, so would I need three seperate one night reservations or would I be able to book the 3 nights on one? Would this cause issues with magic bands/FP+?

Theoretically but you might have to move villas and would have to check in for each segment separately. If you get specialty views anywhere that tend not to be available to cash guests then you likely would have to move if you have cash and points reservations mixed. I'd either just do cash or do SSR in this situation, or consider it an opportunity to try something else and stay off property.

We are also popping down 1st week in Aug....it's busy. I booked SSR on my points but you are correct...every resort Is booked.
If you are renting points from someone it will be a miracle to get the cash/rented points linked. The owner of points will have to be involved in each transaction with no guarantee for the outcome.
I agree with Dean. You may have to move with each segment due to capacity. There are some good deals on Orbitz for rooms right now that make rooms the cost of point rentals...just an FYI.

Are you talking about cash or Members' Cash? Oh, I see you're talking about renting points, so you probably mean regular cash. If so, I can't help.

Any non-consecutive days become a new reservation. DVC points are a different reservation than Disney Reservation Center cash stays.

You cannot link a DRC stay with a DVC stay unless they have changed that in recent days.

While it would be a technically separate reservation, one can check in anytime after the computer changeover for the day, generally in the 4:30 to 5 am range, even if the room is not ready. And while it's not possible to guarantee staying in the same room, if the room types match up and one gives a clear desire to do so, it's extremely likely.
