What is everyone using this year to fill Easter eggs? I need some new ideas. The kids LOVE to hunt for these outside....so I usually fill them with:

-quarters
-disney pins
-small candy

Thinking maybe some silly bandz this year.....but what else??

how old are your kids? I have done stickers, coins, a few dollar bills, small hard candy.

We buy a puzzle and put a few pieces in some of the eggs. My kids are big into puzzles. They're already excited to see what puzzle is in them this year.

We also get the goldfish-like Chickadees at Target and put those in some eggs, and the Annie's organic bunnies (tons of different kinds) but I can see not really wanting to hide those eggs outside.

Jibbitz (for Crocs) are another fun idea...lots of Disney options there.

We buy a puzzle and put a few pieces in some of the eggs.

I love this idea. Thanks, I think I'm going to steal it. We are hosting Easter at our house this year with 7 children under the age of 9. This will be a fun activity to do after the hunt. Everyone helps to put the puzzle together.

See this is why I love this board...I my DS is 3 and I am loving this so that he gets something other than candy which he doesn't like. Especially the puzzle idea he is a puzzle freak!

Another great idea is an IOU coupon for a movie and popcorn or DVD of their choice. Especially since Hop is out this year!

if you have boys, these are fun:

* die cast cars
* lego mini figures....can order the figures piece by piece online or buy a small set and put 1 piece each in a bunch of eggs!

also, the mini collectible erasers are fun

What about stickers... My kids love stickers so I pay a few sheets and cut them out to place in the eggs... Also I do marshmallows the easter ones and shove them in the eggs.. :)

Stickers, tattoos, hair barrettes, pennies(to balance out the $1 or even the $5 bills we put in a few)
fruit snacks, erasers, socks(they were younger)
... my kids are very into crafts...so we've done beads, jewelry findings, embroidery floss, mini markers, etc.

We found a whole bunch of $1 activities at ACMoore one year....so we numbered them....and then put numbers in the eggs.

I'm sure I'll remember more stuff later.

When DS was little, we used to put plastic dinosaurs and bugs in his. Party City used to have a section of stuff intended for party goody bags and I used to find stuff there.

We've been putting nuts in our easter eggs since DD was a toddler and we didn't let her eat much sugar. She still loves them. (Probably because we let her eat those, and hide her halloween candy). ;)

Ohhhh great ideas! DD is 11 and DS is 8......I had done the puzzle idea a couple of years ago....and then totally forgot about it!! Thanks for reminding me!!;)

Our eggs are mostly candy, since I don't put too much of that in the actual basket. This year, our eggs are being filled with a bunch of candy from the Target 90% off Christmas Clearance: Laffy Taffy, Rolos, Kisses, Gumballs and Lindor Truffles. Who cares if they are all red and green? Candy is candy! The little candy the Easter Bunny is putting in the basket consists of a couple Cookies and Cream bars with Christmas Nutcrackers on the package. Apparently the Easter Bunny is experiencing a labor shortage this year, and has gotten some of Santa's Elves to help out at his factory :rotfl:

A few eggs will also have some lipgloss, Beanz and crazerasers from the 90% sale too, just to mix things up a bit.

And I'll probably stick a $5 bill in one. Maybe I'll even go crazy and make it a $20. But probably not...I'm cheap ;)

Oh...that reminded me.... we also did plastic beaded necklaces, plastic rings, bouncy balls, and chinese jump ropes one year.

Polly Pocket was another year....along with mini my little ponies.

Even at 12 and almost 15...my kids can't wait for the hunt this year.

There will probably be more empty eggs than full ones though. They just love finding the eggs. Last year they had me hide over 200 of them!!!!

Bubble gum, M&Ms, Jelly Bellys, GC for an ice cream cone, movie or book, mini nail polishes, jewelry, beads, written clues for a treasure hunt, scratch off lottery tickets. Hobby Lobby has those HUGE plastic eggs. :rotfl:

I found the puzzle idea on here last year and it was great! Thank you, Thank you for the idea!!!:thumbsup2 I bought those tiny 5- piece puzzles at the dollar store. I color coded each child's eggs - DD got purple, DS got blue, DN got green. Then I put 2 puzzle pieces in each egg, which gave me 25 eggs per kid. I bought a pack of large eggs at Target. Each kid got one large one with a few candies and a dollar in it. This worked out so well because every year the older kids would run around snatching up all the eggs and the poor 3 yr. old would end up with only 2 or 3 eggs! By color coding them, we were able to hide them in some tricky spots for the older kids and some obvious spots for the younger kids. Then the kids all sat down to make their puzzles at the end. I already bought this year's puzzles at Dollar Tree. I got Cars for the boys and Tinker Bell for DD. They were two puzzles to a package for $1. Way cheaper than candy, too!!! Don't forget the box or bring a ziploc bag to put the puzzle in at the end.

I have done Disney Dollars, mini nail polishes, earrings, hair ties, magical washcloths, get some bigger eggs and put a gift card in it as well. I have aslo done punching balloons, water capsuls (add water and they expend into an animal or shape).

So far this year I have picked up the jelly like watches from the Disney store, a necklace and disney dollars.

I know most of your kids are young but I work with a girls thats kids are in college and they always bring home friends for Easter because they are from out of state and cannot get home for this holiday. She hides plastic eggs outside and puts paper in them with things written on them. for example paper towels, shampoo, pens, dish soap and the list goes on. Mc donald coupons, dunkin donuts cards etc. she collects stuff as she sees it on sale or discount througout the year and this way the kids have more of their money in their pocket. I love this idea for college kids.

JOLAROCHE - that is a great idea for college kids :)

For the younger crowd, I love the idea of a puzzle. I'm going to steal that this year. I also like (and will steal LOL) the eraser idea. DD has been begging for some, maybe I'll get the foodie ones so the boys will like them too...

I already have Might Beanz, I am trying to find some GoGo Crazy Bones (having a hard time - anyone know where to find them?), and I may add a few squinkies. I figured the kids could trade these easily after finding them, so, even if ODS finds a squinkie :scared1: he could trade it to DD for a more manly bean LOL

The only candy mine are getting, this year, will be the chocolate bunny. I used to fill eggs with candy, but my MIL loves to fill gallon zip lock bags with seasonal candy and give to the grandkids and those, combined with Easter basket candy, is waay more sugar than my kids need
