It's not that the new ride is awful. It's just that it isn't the origional, which leaves the newest version to be disappointing to those of us who remember. I guess it's easier to like it when you don't have anything to really compair it to.

My wife never saw the origional before I took her on her first trip to WDW a few years ago. She liked the new ride and I sat there saying how disappointed I was. I tried to explain to her the whole upstairs area of the old ride and how epic the origional ride was, but she didn't get it... and then I showed her a video of the origional.


Now she gets it.

On a side note, I still have my Figment bath toy that when there is water in it and you squeeze it, it spits at you.

What's wrong with the new ride? I don't remember the old one at all (last time I went on it must have been in like 1985), but I know I loved Figment and bought a plush of him that I think I still have at my parents' house. I've got an August trip coming up and I've been talking to my kids about Figment and they're excited to see him... is the new attraction just that bad?

The old one...look it up on youtube. But you probably should do it after your trip or it will just depress you. It was just really a well done 'classic' Disney ride complete with catchy tune.

The new ride originally didn't even have Figment and they put him back in only after major uproar. Its better than nothing but its not anything like what it used to be.

Its fine for a break in AC but its not really all that interesting. If there's a long wait, I wouldn't bother.
