Figment Question

Hi Everyone:

I didn't see this happen, but some of my family went to the Meet and Greet Figment and held out an autograph book for him to sign. Figment waved his hands indicating he could not or would not sign the autograph book. How come? Has this happened to anyone else?
We were a group of 18 and just returned last week from a wonderful 8 day day vacation.

Any information will be appreciated.

i have Figgy's autograph - sometimes the character's haven't actually learned the sign yet (or can't figure it out). This happened to me with Mushu - I have no clue why he didn't sign my book, but last trip he did.

The CM told me that Figment doesn't sign. I was very sad about that.

Did you get a picture with him?? That would be completely worth it!! I'll need to find him next time.

Yes, I was told Figment doesn't sign autographs either, but my 2 daughters got a very cute picture with him.

Figment's House is outside of the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT. If you are exiting the store, you go straight across past the Fast Pass machines and up a few steps. It is pretty hidden, but the CMs know where it is.

We just happened to be outside, and a CM asked us if we wanted to meet Figment. He was there all by himself, and my girls had a great time with him.

I looked last july when I was there and even asked a cm who was standing by that location where the meet and greet was but I never found it. I was so bummed. I am going to look again in december.

2 weeks ago, after exiting the store, we walked over to see Figment. The door to see him was closed, and the CM standing by a nearby cart said come back at 3pm. Well, our family, as well as another one came back at 3pm, and they told us Figment was not coming out today. Kind of a bummer, but maybe next time. Figment's place is by the dancing fountains up across the store exit.

We were ther ein Sept and he didn't sign, but we got a picture and a sticker from him

That is weird I wasn't aware he didn't sign. I know the characters that have a hard time like Buzz Lite Year have stampers w/ their sigs because their gloves are too big.

Figment is the little purple dragon from the Journey Into Imagination ride at the Imagination Pavillion in Epcot's Future World West. (And he can be seen, borrowing Mickey's sorcerer hat, in my avatar picture at left.)

The fun purple guy in Journey Into Imagination. He had a much bigger role in the original Journey into Imagination.

King Louie does not either. They told my daughter that monkeys cannot write. I thought it was funny.

Hm...I haven't even found Figment to get a picture with!!
But yes, some characters only do pictures. A CM once told me that I could get a picture with Nemo and Dory althought they didn't do autographs. He said "Well, it would kind of be hard for a fish to hold a pen now wouldn't it?" (Although I never found Nemo and Dory....you see my point)

When we met Figment, we were told he didn't sign autographs. But after we "chatted" for a few minutes, he suddenly indicated something to the CM with him, and they gave me a Figment sticker. I was thrilled, as I put that sticker in my autograph book! Got to say that Figment is so much fun to meet!
